I didn't know she was Jewish but I find it hard to believe she was actually quoted saying that or that it was the real reason she was let off for. There were many upheavals during the show's first 8 months on the air which also saw the Davidsons lose Scott and Nora's characters as part of shock new year exit story line. I'm sure both actors were aware of the decision enough time in advance, but it still must have been at least a disappointment. In Mandy's character case, her exit was quite sudden and swept under the carpet.
But just for a fact, there were Jewish actors on the show. They may have been secular or didn't practice the religion at all, they may have been messianic, they had at least one parent who was Jewish, they may have been brought up as Christians or celebtated all the religious holidays. I know some of them mentioned it on their social media accouts so I don't mind mentioning Michelle Seidman (Jill) or the late Naomi Riseman (Nora Lindsey). I read somewhere that Alan Sader's father was Jewish and Sader is a common Jewish last name, just like Davidson is, but there are countless Davidsons and Saders that are not.
