Laura is such an inconsequential side character, you just know that was on purpose so Leslie could get away with it. I don’t think we’ll ever be seeing #justiceforlaura, lol

I will never stop beating the drum of what a horrible, off-putting, and irrelevant character Ashley is, and what a boring actress Jen Jacob is (she can’t rise above the horrible writing for her charac

The show definitely plays it too safe quite often, which I think can be detrimental to both stories and characters.

She insulted her clothes after bc she already did not get a good vibe from her for good reason. Was it rude? Yes, but she saw right through her

There's nothing wrong with liking Kat but don't make excuses for her elitism. Kat doesn't like broke people unless they present in a aspirational mold or they bow down to the Duprees. And bringing up Iziah doesn't count because if Iziah wasn't Jacob's brother, Kat wouldn't tolerate him.

It was a real mistake not to let Bill run against Martin in this primary. That could've been a great story, or introducing a young rival for Martin (or rival staffer) who Kat or Eva could've gotten involved with. I'd say you could at the very least introduce an opponent but there is no way the BTG audience is going to get behind what would be a GOP-coded candidate lol. Maybe thread the needle and say someone jumped in as an independent?

At first I shrugged my shoulders at this Bill vs Martin idea. But y'all were right. The concept of somebody like Bill amassing more power is a scary thought. He's already a freaking menace as a lawyer. And he's not even the district attorney. Government Bill would be too much.

-- The Kat and Eva scenes were wonderful. Great dialogue, great performances by both Colby and Ambyr.

-- I do think the script played HEAVILY into Kat being held accountable much more than Eva. That bothered me.

-- Leslie with her rolled-up wad of money was cartoonish. They can give her a gonzo personality without resorting to something so ridiculous.

-- Tomas an Chelsea sharing multiple scenes. SPARE ME.

-- Lord knows I'm no apologist for Tomas, but having Chelsea be the one to push back on him as she did was a choice. She still doesn't come off to me as a mature, engaged woman who understands life.

-- Oh, Dani, I'm so glad you realize how much you love Andre after he screws you. She's embarrassing, and I want to shake her.

Eva does like Kat and subtly wants her validation, so while I can see the tension remaining I think it will still be on Kat's part more.

Tomas coming up with a proposal at such a trying time is totally ridiculous not to mention jarring because during the tornado he showed little concern for Kat.

Timon Kyle Durrett executes Bill's expressions of disdain for Andre in a way that few male actors tend to achieve.

I am someone who enjoys both Kat and Eva and I can see they both have their flaws. However, Kat has been an elitist princess from the beginning. While she was right about Eva, her comments about her clothes and her status were real dings at that shiny polished exterior Kat likes to put on. Ironically, Anita is always talking about her early life struggles and not having a silver spoon in her mouth. And as someone else mentioned, Eva isn't the only person Kat has reserved this class judgement for.

While Eva following through with her mother's scheme was wrong, when the dust settled, all she wanted was to have a dad and a family. Kat was able to come to terms with her cheating father, but can't sympathize with a woman who had to live her whole life without one while she had that same father present her whole life. Eva is no saint, but from my perspective she has been more willing to forge a connection with Kat than vice versa.

I also wish there would have been more of a health complication for Kat and why she would not want to go through with the surgery. Sure, she doesn't owe Eva her liver, but it would have made for more drama if people were more divided on where they stood especially if such a surgery could present complications for Kat.

Also, count me as someone who has come around to the idea of Bill and Martin facing off in these elections.

The Tomas character is just comedic relief at this point. That's what I am telling myself at least.

I enjoyed today's episode.

The Eva and Kat scenes were nicely done, as well as the Leslie and Kat scenes.

The scenes with Bill and Andre were good as well.

I was curious as to who wrote today's episode, specifically the Eva and Kat scenes. I loved it. Finally, and I do mean that this was a long time coming, both got a POV. There was nuance, understanding, and some lingering resentments but they heard each other. I don't know why the show took such a tortured way to get us to this point but I'll take it.

Ambry and Colby (who continues to be the MVP of the younger set) came through. I hope they both submit these scenes.

The scenes were so well done. Eva's tears and her admitting that she had gaslighted Kat this entire time allowed me to like the character again. She doesn't need to be perfect to have a place on the canvas.

I won't have time to watch until Saturday, but your comments have me all in my feelings, LOL.

I can't wait to watch.

I think Eva and Kat declared a truce, but Ted is still an issue that needs to be dealt with because he's delusional. Looks like Kat is less charitable with SPS/Leslie and I hope that continues.

Lots of great little moments. Bill's smirk at Andre was absolutely priceless.

Eva had a wonderfully sad but understated reaction when Kat said they weren't becoming sisters. Loved how they had their hands clasped when Ted came in. These scenes were just gold.

I also liked Kat's skittish reaction when Leslie came in the room. What Leslie did was not cool at all. Even if she had supposedly good intentions, she should have left when she was asked, and she definitely shouldn't have snatched the button from Kat!

I could definitely feel Anita when she wanted to postpone her appointment because she just needed a few days with nothing hanging over her head.

Madison was more animated and likable than I'd ever seen her. I almost want to say she had more chemistry with Naomi than Chelsea. Chelsea is such a useless character.

Came across this. Very cute. A little rhythmless, but cute.

Again, I have the sudden urge to change the channel once Ashley comes on - they did me dirty by having her pop up midway in this episode. 😆

Alex Alegria is just so bad. It’s the same monotone voice and deer in the headlights look in every damn scene he’s in, regardless of the scene partner.

Why is this show so stubborn to get rid of things that don’t work?!

Thoughts:

  • It is very sweet that Grayson wanted to at least see Ashley following the tornado. And look at Ashley, potentially opening up to him. That is progress: lunch at Orphey Gene's.

  • I would not necessarily say Dana turned her apology into a hostage situation unless more things happened after we last saw Katherine issuing her threat.

  • Once again, using words like "real sister" just does not sit right. I get her sentiment, but it is her choice of words that do not ring true. It is not like she is fake or unreal. Eva is a human being that exists.

  • Snatching the liver back? Really...? That is kind of a low blow, even for you, Dani.

  • Sharing a husband? Naomi is catching both her father and her mother in these moments.

  • Hayley, Val, whatever your name is... CHILD BRIDE!... you do resent Bill for having those feelings because it pulls him away from you and your piss-poor attempt at murder for money.

  • Dani saying she loves the valet would be something she does. Not having to retrieve her own vehicle. 🤣 Happily ever divorced? OK, Fran Lovett.

  • Ugh... I was hoping that the progress made between Eva and Katherine would have kept up, but it just feels like she might be all-too-easily slipping back into her former self.

  • Okay, Tomas, asking Ted for Katherine's hand in marriage. Very old-school, and I like it for you.

  • Chelsea is a terrible liar; you would think after the whole Allison situation, she would have... learnt about lying and covering up a bit better.

  • Katherine is funny? Since when? I have yet to see that side of her supposed personality.

  • Not active fantasies... you got to live out the real thing. 🤣 And not breaking sissy confidentiality. That is... unfortunate, especially in a way to try and avoid admitting she herself made love with Bill in the elevator.

  • Remember that, Hayley: you are the current wife and not just Bill's wife. You are replaceable in the same way Dani was for a while. I want to know the fantasy! Oh, a fantasy related to the office?

  • Ted is posing some solid points, but it also feels like he is trying to figure out if Tomas is going about this for the right reasons.

  • GRAYSON WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DEREK'S DEATH! He did not drag him to the warehouse.

  • Hayley, you never complained about having sex with Bill before. Why is it now an issue? And it is sex you do not have to pay for... win-win.

  • Good to hear that things are moving ahead with Anita's treatment and that nothing has been delayed or pushed back. This is excellent news! Let's kick this thing in the proverbial ass!

  • Some excellent, solid advice from Naomi to Ashley. Hopefully she remains open to talking to Grayson and repairing some of what was broken.

  • The dramatic reaction to Naomi finding out Vernon calls them all his favourite granddaughter. We have all been there with our grandparents at one point. 🤣 It is more important than being your parent's favourite child.

  • Oh, what a time for the whore to walk in on Bill with the woman he is meant to truly be with. Take the out, Hayls. Take it.

  • For once, being grounded might be the best decision for Katherine right now. She just had surgery. She should not be traveling for a bit of time.

  • God. Naomi needs to stop being quiet about her BRCA2 test results. The longer she waits, the more it will hurt everyone.

  • Oh! Hosting the event at the Dupree home? That is exciting. We love an Anita Dupree event. Awesome. Let's see it happen.

  • YAY! Ashley and Grayson are back on! That is wonderful news!

  • Not Bill recycling his fantasy, down to the coat, with Hayley. Oh my... that is desperate and sad. And Dani is right: nothing beats the original!

Notes:

  • I could sense pre-title credits that this was going to be a writer2 day, and now we suffer. And poor Paige, constantly having to be torture-paired. Praying that by 2027 this changes and we are freed from this torture and subpar-level experience.

  • Jen Jacob and Jordi VIlasuso have some great chemistry, so I am very glad to see that the romance between their characters is back on!
