I can't believe it's today that I learned (or let it sink in) that Y&R is based in Wisconsin haha. Given it's personality and various businesses, I just assumed it was West Coast.

Anyway, is Kyle (Jack's son) gay? That was an interesting innuendo they made in the beginning about knowing Martin.

They're doing a lot of backstory recaps - guessing to entice any Y&R viewers to stay with them. I get it.

Thoughts:

• Welcome to Fairmont Crest, Diane and Jack! Being in the ball room suits you!

• Aw, nice seeing Kyle arrive, too! Hopefully he enjoys his reunion with Martin, too! And good on Diane for donating in the Abbott family name, for the sake of saving face.

• Not Andre being lowkey jealous of Dani and Devon. Now he has got two men to worry about where his wife is concerned. 🤣

• Come on, Ashley, put on something beautiful, and plus one with Naomi to the fundraiser.

• Not the continued foreshadowing of things to come with something going awry with Shonda and it being "just rain" with Nicole.

• Dani knowing Diane's modeling history is amazing. I love this. Seeing the Duprees and the Abbotts mixing it up feels natural.

• Not the Elphaba reference. Just when I thought the Wicked overhype was done.

• Not Bill wanting to have business talk with Tomas at the fundraiser; surely, he could have one night off to enjoy himself at a fundraiser for Katherine's brother.

• Eva handled the tabloid inquiry quite well. I am sure Katherine

• Flights being paused due to the incoming rainstorm is again foreshadowing of things to come.

• Love seeing Abby and Chelsea connect and great for some pointers from Abby about what she would have loved as a mom for a bag.

• Bradley is going to be leaving the event after the speeches? Come on, Bradley, stick around for your husband. Your kids got to skip out, but you should be fully locked in.

• Vansesa, darling, you are being a bit bullheaded concerning this issue. I know you do not want to not be seen with Joey, but everyone is right about Joey's presence at this fundraiser.

• Oh my goodness. 'The Naked Heirness' is something I never want to be reminded of. But it also makes sense that Abby and Chelsea have... spicy backgrounds (Abby not being put-off by talk of threesomes, etc.), and I love that she wants to know about Chelsea's relationship.

• Aw! A Harrison photo! And Samantha and Tyrell! Definitely old friends beaming with pride with photos of their children! Typical!

• Ashley, darling, you look gorgeous and you are handling yourself so well! But of course, Anastasia would slither her way over to Ashley and just be her usual ugly self. She really does not know what the Hell she is doing. So gross.

• Not Dana slinking in with a cape as if she were incognito. Another event she is not wanted at.

• Not Kyle openly flirting with Hayley; he has got some genuine game. Perhaps Hayley might need to make her presence known in Genoa City and make a play for the power players there for a bit.

• Tomas power-playing with the Abbotts. Good on him. But it is majorly clear that Diane and Jack are not interested. They have their own legal team at their disposal, via Jabot.

• So happy we are getting some follow-up on Anita's and Devon's plans concerning the Articulettes and bringing Barbara's voice back to the group. Abby looks so uncomfortable.

• Look at Shanice, defending her man and his family. We love to see it.

• Uh-oh! Not Hayley taking the rings off and planning her next con already. 🤣 Girl. You still have a husband.

• I do appreciate seeing Dani show some compassion to Ashley, who clearly needs it. The poor dear is going through the emotions of grief and reliving her life while Derek's is over. So heartbreaking. And she had a great idea to include Naom in their talk.

• Not Dana taking her chances on Diane and just throwing her history in her face. Beyond uncouth. Absolutely none from Dana. Thankfully, Diane handled herself with class and decorum. As if Dana will take Diane's solid advice.

• What a poignant speech by Victor. I adored him relating it to his own history with being orphaned and adopted. And Jack not standing up for Victor's speech was very on point for him. 🤣

• Well, here comes the tornado! That warning could not have come at a more last minute. And not Joey wishing he had left when they were asked to leave. 🤣

• Not Dana telling off Anastasia, and not Katherine ultimately blaming Dana for this happening.

• Oh snap. That tornado is not going to wait for anyone! It is making its presence known! But... how did Victor make it out so fast? Sir. 🤣

Notes:

• Bibel was perfect for this episode; their history as a xxx writer at The Young and the Restless came in handy with finding the voices for the Genoa City characters visiting, and Davis gave some real solid moments of dialogue. I appreciate the way in which both soaps were merged together and how connections were established.

• Williford was the right person to direct this episode. It visually felt like a classic episode of a soap opera. His storied history in American daytime was seen today. Some brilliantly done shots.

• SHOUT OUT TO THE PRODUCTION TEAM! Those final moments were insane!

• Jeresa Featherstone and her team continue with the amazing work that began yesterday. The newcomers to the event all look so polished and rich in fashion. Loving the varied shapes and colour schemes.

Glad to see SPS and Diane interacting and Hayley/Kyle.. hmmm.

The mixing of Leslie and Diane, as well as Kyle and Hayley, worked really well. I'm kind of surprised they were well done. Hayley sliding her ring off before Kyle comes back. 😄

Jack and Diane trying to get away from Tomas was also funny.

I wanted Ashley to slap Anastasia or at least toss champagne in her face.

Ok nevermind, Kyle isn't gay LOL.

It was slightly silly that a tornado watch came in and within a minute, the tornado arrives. I'm not a weather expert but I've lived around tornados before and I'd think a tornado warning is more appropriate. Whatever, I'll go with it because it's exciting. Also LOL that Victor magically escaped in that short of time.

Tamara's voice was going, poor girl. I hope she wasn't too miserable during the long shooting days (assuming she was sick).

I enjoyed Leslie's arrival and Joey thinking it was his sister because of the cloak LOL.

Welll tbf...there was that silly story on Y&R with Kyle and Theo and their secret in NYC that a few of us hoped might be just that re: gay. But alas.

It sounds like they are doing a good job. I know I'm enjoying the ads I'm seeing.
