Once more for those who in back who are slow when it comes to math, and need it broken down simply.

📊 DAYS Math, Made Simple

TL;DR: DAYS is cheap to make, heavily watched, and brings in more value per minute than it costs. Peacock keeps it because the economics quietly work.

People talk about DAYS like it lives or dies by “Top 10 tiles,” but that’s not the real story. The show runs on about $25M a year for 169–250 episodes — roughly $100K each. With 3.1-4.2 Billion minutes streamed annually, each episode ends up with around 500,000 full‑episode‑equivalent views.

However, on Peacock’s side, 46M subscribers and $2B in quarterly revenue works out to about $14.49 per subscriber per month. A loyal DAYS viewer watching 21 episodes a month (about 840 minutes) effectively generates 1.3–2 cents per minute in revenue.

Streaming value is about total minutes watched, not popularity. If a show delivers huge consumption at a low cost per minute, it’s the better deal.

That’s why DAYS — with 4.3B minutes in early 2026 at roughly $166 per minute — outperforms a “top streamer” like Love Island US, which racks up 18B minutes but costs around $12,000 per minute. One is simply a far more efficient use of budget.

Promise me, the next anyone catastrophizes about DAYS failing because they don't like the creative choices, remind them that there is no correlation between those two factors. Like many other shows, taste does not determine profit.

I've been catching up on the show. My random thoughts: The Lexie is Alive storyline is awful and the actress playing Lexie is a cold, brittle, dud. Renee Jones imbued Lexie with a warmth and sparkle t

Exactly. It's confusing as to why Xander/Kate thought Johnny would settle no questions asked and why they went to all that trouble to set him up over a book. Surely, Xander and Kate could have figure

So, the plagiarism lawsuit actually is going to get dropped.

And I think that's too bad because, despite how clunky this storyline was, it really was one of the most compelling and interesting on Days right now. I liked the way that so many characters and their own smaller storylines were weaved into it. It could've had huge ripple effects across the canvas. But I'm still curious to see what's going to happen for everybody in the aftermath of all this.

Kate's confession to Roman was the best part of today. Despite Josh Taylor's voice lol he and Lauren Koslow had me hooked. It felt like classic Kate, where she felt guilty about hurting Roman but deep down still feels like she did the right thing and that nothing would change her mind about that. It's a pretty interesting dynamic for a character to have. And I hope that Kate is correct when she revealed to Xander that she fears that the fallout is just beginning

Yes, that angle of Kate's characterization is why she's one of my favourite soap characters. She can acknowledge when she's hurt someone, but she can also remain steadfast in her actions. Lauren Koslow and Josh Taylor made it work.

The lawsuit storyline has had good ripple effects, but it's been so underplayed by the writers, that I hope we're going to see more prominence for it and for Lauren Koslow.

All about Chad and Belle today.

I guess I can get behind the idea of a Chad/Belle/EJ/Cat quad, but it still feels like there's something missing from this storyline, in addition to just the characters themselves. Even today, I felt the same way about EJ and Cat's scenes. Maybe if the pacing had been better, and these dynamics had had a stronger place on Days from the very beginning, I could support it a lot more. In terms of both couples, I definitely preferred Chad and Belle today. They do have chemistry, and I wouldn't mind Stefano's chess set somehow having an effect on their storyline and relationship. But yeah, we really should've gotten some continuation with Shawn and Jada.

But I did think that Cat was used effectively with Mark though. It was nice to see him again, and it seems like Days might be hinting at an alcoholism storyline for him. And I wouldn't mind it; he needs to be used a lot more. And I also think he needs a love interest (Dimitri) to help him get through all the stuff that he's been going through.

And I do love that Julie was able to talk to Marlena about how she was feeling about her date with Foster. Marlena really is the best person for her to talk to about all this. I wish those scenes had gone a little longer. Marlena should've spent the entire episode with her, rather than having to listen to EJ's whining about Chad and Belle.

Johnny and Chanel were really sweet too but Paulina showing up kinda messed up their scenes though.

Pretty good episode today. I really am enjoying this potential of Belle and Chad; opposingly, Cat and EJ do absolutely nothing for me and are a complete miss. However, it was nice to see Mark, who is probably the one Greene family member that I do wish were used more effectively besides pop-ins here and there, as a talking point for Cat.

Marlena being a sounding board for all of Salem does not work for me. I understand it's likely because Suzanne Rogers was not filming at this time, but I really think more could and should be done with Marlena than this drivel.

Overall, a good episode, though.

Mark and Dimitri?

Yeah right. The writers will pair Mark with the insufferable Leo to solve his drinking problem.

Unfortunately.

And it's too bad because the possible storyline is staring them right in the face: Dimitri, in an attempt to try and expose Cat as an ISA agent, pretends to be interested in Mark and starts a secret relationship with him. But eventually he realizes that he has actually has fallen in love with Mark and confesses everything to him.

Mark then kicks Dimitri to the curb but after a long talk with Cat, he realizes that he still loves him and decides to forgive him. But while that long talk is happening, Dimitri has a one night stand with Aaron, without knowing that he's Mark's brother 👍😂😂
