New Method to Combat Error 500 and Login/Logout Issue

Dear Members:

I'm continuing to monitor and investigate two technical issues that have arisen in recent weeks: the error 500 message and login/logout issues affecting some users.

One method provided to combat the problem was to delete any potentially old files/folders from earlier versions of the message boards that could be causing a conflict, even if not actively used, and ensure all files are strictly from the latest version of our community software (Invision Community V5).

I completed the file exchange just moments ago, which forced a short period of downtime.

As far as I'm aware, other than a change in the file structure, the SON Community should be running normally. If it's not, please let me know. If you find any further issues, particularly the aforementioned two that the update was meant to fix, please also provide your input.

So far so good; no combat error messages, which is a good sign!

My workaround on my phone for the login problem was to switch browsers for the board to Firefox, which is working well for me.

I just checked Google Chrome again, and it will not allow me to sign in.

You should clear your cache and cookies for Google Chrome if it was causing the aforementioned issues before my post above. If you have done that and this issue persists, please send screengrabs of what you're seeing to [email protected], or share them here if you prefer.

I should add that the browser version would also be helpful, as older browsers, even ones last updated in the past six months, can be considered outdated.

By versions, I mean information like "Version 148.0.7778.169 (Official Build) (arm64)," not just Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Each has a version and must be updated regularly to address security exploits and to access other advanced features and capabilities.

I'm not getting any error messages at the moment either.

I still can't log in on Edge and I should probably just give up on trying. At least I can on Chrome.
