Well, the chemistry testing between Jasmine Burke (June) and Keith D. Robinson (Ted) is going well, and I buy it.

i can't imagine a wealthy, well-known, famous, conceited plastic surgeon getting involved with a woman two weeks out of homelessness.  I hope they don't go there.

They seriously don't. Her little flat is awesome to me.

I agree; it is a cute, comfy set. I imagine it is an older-styled complex exterior, so it works for me.

Dani and Andre are a total flop. This woman should not be losing her time doing this... this is such a bad look even for her. Is she substituting the bottle for this? The guy is as boring as can be... the writers have yet to write a single line coming out of his mouth that doesn't sound basic asf. I still have no idea who this guy is... other than a walking vibrator for Dani and Saint Ash's best friend. Listening to their boring uninspired dialogue makes me feel depressed. The way they were acting like Oh, where are we... which town are we in... WE DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING... like it's a freaking sitcom... GIVE me a break. Weren't soaps once famous for showing us these passionate, adventurous relationships? Where is the REAL sexy daring dialogue? Where is the authentic feel that this is really happening. Because it all feels so fake to me and I'm not a DOOL fan, so this kind of shtick won't work with me. And yes, the dialogue stinks. If this was airing in the 60s or the 70s... even the bored housewives sitting by the stove would be turning the TV off. I am struggling to believe that this is the same show that started the way it did. It was like a dark fairytale with SO MUCH potential... What happened? I'm not usually this negative, but I'm just incredibly irritated. I don't want to stop watching this show. I've invested so much time into wanting to love it. And I WANT to love it. I was expecting a real soap about real people... but instead this is slowly, but surely going into camp territory.

Doug's likely last words being "that's my money" would be fitting considering that money got him into this mess in the first place. And I'm ready for Joey to go, he's a nasty character with no redeeming qualities that can't have that long of a run.

I'm beyond ready too. Everything connected to him is tacky and... quite frankly boring. We've seen these types of storylines written a lot better on other shows. The mafia angle is so tired at this point. Who cares?

"How I Went from Under the Bridge in Tent City to Beyond the Gates in Fairmont Crest in Sixty Days" --- A Memoir by June

I liked that today's episode had a common thread that all scenes and couplings shared... wedding rings.

Joey/Vanessa:  Today was another stellar performance from Lauren B as Vanessa where it wasn't what she was saying, but the tone of her voice, her body language, and her facial expressions/eyes after Joey asked her to remove her wedding ring, when she heard Doug making a breakthrough, at hearing Doug's word after he hears Joey, and her sad surrender to Joey.  Skillfully written and acted.

Doug:  As he makes a breakthrough with Vanessa, the hurt on his face and voice after he hears Joey's face, and the words he says to Vanessa are going to haunt her if the ending indicates what I think it will indicate.

Naomi/Jacob:  They're in a good place with the two of them working as a team, enjoying one another in and out of the bedroom, and getting to hear a bit of backstory on their relationship (where Jacob designed the rings) so her losing her rings almost served as a trigger for a fear Naomi has that she'll end up in the same position as her parents especially her mom.   Little has been shared about the Dani/Naomi relationship... but Naomi deep down works to not be in the same position with a man that her mother was in.  She definitely is her father's daughter.

Ashley/Derek:  They're a couple that are together out of deceit.. intentionally and unintentionally.  Ashley due to seeing Andre with Dani and Derek keeping quiet the possibility he can walk.  There were a few instances where Derek had a look of worry/anxiousness on his face... the baby steps to a more grey area Derek is ongoing.

June/Ted:  Chemistry testing.. or just a random scene between two people that share a connection (her kids are his adopted grandkids).  I had said in the past that I thought the order of June's story was out of whack and today just proves it.   The potential of a June/Ted coupling should have been focused on as a step in her ongoing path to regaining her life after a long period of struggle.   The Tyrell/Samantha bombshell should have waited till June was further along in her path of rebuilding her life.  It's partly why I side with Smitty (one of the few apparently that did LOL).

Overall.. a good episode and a nice hump day episode.

Ted is so far removed from Martin’s life he doesn’t even know he just sat around commiserating with the mother of his grandkids. Does he even know his grandkids met her?

I wonder if the Ted/June scenes were a true chemistry test or just a nod to the fact that they played lovers on Saints and Sinners. Honestly, I'd be open to either although I'd prefer he settle down with Leslie. Anything that keeps him away from Nicole (who deserves better) is fine by me.

Oh, no DOUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGG!!!!

That said...good cliffhanger given what Marcel has already done.

Today continued to prove that Doug/Vanessa/Joey is strong enough to be the center of attention. Take that limelight and run with it.

I'm not ready for Joey to go, but if he is the one behind Doug's death, his relationship with Vanessa is OVER.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! Perhaps it's because I keep coming across applications where they want me to title an autobiography, but this tingled me.
