Great news! Well deserved. And pfffftt to that long fired NBC Executive who said Days wouldn’t last beyond 2009. Thrilled to have Days to at least 2028!

Jeff Zucker was his name, lol. He ran CNN into the ground, too!

His words will forever remain in my mind when I see DAYS getting renewal after renewal. Now, the show is guaranteed to remain on the air through at least 2028, which means 19 years past his prediction. How he kept getting promoted, I'll never know. The epimitome of failing upward, IMO.

They really need to pour more money into the production, for actors and sets, and stop shooting so far ahead. And what about finally posting some classic episodes, like episodes from the 80s? Surely that might get a bunch of new people to sign up?

Yes, I'd love it if they offered up their back catalog that Ken Corday loves to mention. B&B does it via YouTube, but DAYS would be at the advantage to release old episodes in crystal clear condition via Peacock.

Obviously, we're talking about a lot of episodes, but they could go the B&B route of uploading a few different years at a time, like start with 1983, 1993, 2003 and keep building. Something like that. That way, you're also keeping multiple generations of long-time DAYS viewers interested.

Or do themed episodes or Super Couples or whatnot

It helps though that Brad Bell owns BOLD so he can upload the show & not have to worry about rights etc

Yeah. Sony is the one that stands in the way of the Days and Y&R vaults from being opened to fans. They seem to have no interest in shopping those episodes around. I keep hoping with the FAST channel growth, Sony will dig deep down and launch a classic Days and Y&R channel. But I don’t know how much Sony is into all of that either. Maybe some day….

Not only just DAYS, NBC has plenty of short lived soaps that could be shown on Peacock- NBC partially owned Generations, Sunset Beach, and Passions.  Not to mention Another World, Santa Barbara, and Texas.

I don't believe NBC has a financial stake in the PGP soaps. Yes, to Generations, Sunset Beach and Passions, though.

That said, Sunset Beach was an Aaron Spelling production as well, which means CBS owns the other half of the show's rights. With Passions, they own the first eight seasons outright, but the ninth and final season also aired on DirecTV, which co-produced the episodes.

This is the best news ever. We Days fans had to suffer through years of RC, we deserve to have some years of competent writing.
