-- Y&R has been terrible, but I really was encouraged to see Lily with a Black man. All this build up for all these months -- with Damian and Nate, with his mother, with the mystery business -- all for nothing. Jermaine Rivers is a good actor, too, so of course, he's dumped.

-- I know CK gets the blame for wanting Lily to be with only white guys, but I just don't believe the show gives her that kind of control. In addition, she was doing good, strong work with JR, and I didn't see any sign she wasn't giving her all.

-- I've read that the stabbing was meant for Cane and not for Damian,but they sure didn't film it that way. Cane was completely blocked by Damian and the knife went directly into Damian's back. 

Not sure what the obsession is with Lily being with a black man, but anywho.

 

Since Damien is dead, how are we supposed to have a “whodunnit” storyline when most of these people barely even knew the guy. We know Cane has a motive obviously but other than that, what could possibly be the motive. Sharon disappearing because she “forgot something” is supposed to generate some kind of motive on her part I guess? And why just because she’s bipolar? She has no reason to kill Damien either. The whole story is a failure before even starting.

Thank you! Same. Even their card scene last week or so which was basically the definition of 'reading a phone book' under JG's pen was great due to the chemistry those two had with each other. I definitely feel CK was and has been giving in this relationship. Which I admit I was surprised to see because of the aforementioned tales of CK, Lily, and white guys. And if she don't like it, I don't see that on screen. I did see chemistry between Lily and Damian and was looking forward to see where it could go. Have been since he was smitten with her from first sight.

 

And I've said and continue to say what you said as well. All that build up...all that mystery...down the tubes for an unnecessary twist to a story that was actually pretty good in spite of the haphazard writing to bring back an unneeded character who had run his course when we finally got a new AND different character played by an actor who was good in the role. So of course, he's out.

Redaric is FINE and is a solid actor. I was pissed when Y&R got rid of him.

Lord. This show has been stuck in this horrible forest maze for over a month now and now it looks like the show has just killed off its most promising character since Audra.

Don't forget that while most of the cast have been snowed/flooded (?) in, someone Cane made it out...and Adam actually WALKED up the mountain. Literally. Walked. 

 

Speak of it. Damian really was before his whole storyline was hijacked. 

 

If we count his DAYS run (well the ending)...BOTH. 

Do I even need to bother watching his final episode?

MVJ needs to get Jermaine Rivers on BTG ASAP!

I should have posted here not in spoilers:

Thinking about it more, it is so vintage JG.

Retcon storyline drawing on "history" by creating a totally new character from a classic one, but also not having her interact with anyone she knew in the past (just the offscreen lunch with Traci!).

Create what seems like an intriguing drama (a man who is estranged and won't even speak to his own mother when he learns she's dying!) but then have it turn out to be nothing (he was upset she was working all the time while his father was dying and she explained she was doing it because they needed insurance, all is forgiven easily). 

Include a convoluted, pointless subplot where he randomly gets another guy to pose as him, with some random "business" stuff thrown in. Something about random job offers from random companies with no offices.

The main actor turns out to be good and has potential storylines with his new brother and chemistry with Lily, setting up a love triangle with the new pet character/flavor of the month. 

Decide to kill him off instead, leaving us with the elderly retcon mother character who was only brought on to introduce the son. 

Exactly.

 

 

💯 It’s so frustrating. And I’m still irritated that Damian was stripped of everything first. He went from possibly an enigma with money, power, and mystery, to just a basic plot point that agreed to work for Lily. 🙄😏
