🤣 Well, let's pray that's done and over with by the time Floyd makes his debut in April; today is his first day at work.

I like ALM and Cat more than most.  Hopefully they can figure the character out and they have chemistry.  Still there are lots of options for Chad.

As Chad should; Abigail shouldn't be the only one he's held to.

this is actually really good casting. Dude is *so hot* but the way Y&R always acted like he was a rando was so weird to me. Good for him. Bring on ALL the shirtless scenes! He will make a gorgeous couple w/ AnnaLynne McCord.

I thought Floyd was on contract at Y&R. I'm interested in seeing him play Chad.

Conner Floyd has been off-contract at Y&R for several months.  He rarely airs anymore.
Floyd will air in scenes on Y&R with Billy Flynn's storyline week of June 23.

Conner Floyd is certainly easy on the eyes, but I was hoping the excessive recasting of characters would die with the exit of Carlivati. The show should have taken this opportunity to rest Chad and his kids for a few years, while bringing in a Horton offspring we haven't seen in ages. Jeremy certainly would have been a good choice, as Mike Horton would be the first person I'd bring back at any given time. And then, when it's time for Chad to return, you have a few years where he could have gotten up to all sorts, leading to much more avenue for story.

Why do I find this comical?

Y&R doesn’t know how to cast male characters to save their life and yet Days is spot on with their casting. The swapping of actors both shows are doing is hilarious when you see how obvious the differences in the way it’s executed.

Not sure why they couldn’t just have Abigail revealed to be alive and given her and Chad a happily ever after, but whatevs. Maybe it’ll become understandable in the next few months.

I’m not familiar with his work, but Y&R fans on here say he was being wasted just as much Rory Gibson was, and look how well it turned out for him over on GH. Hopefully, it works out here too

I was thinking the same. It's ridiculous days tapes a year ahead. It is insane.

My guess would be the writers still had stories to tell with Chad, and rather than do a quick rewrite, producers decided to recast, allowing Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford to continue their storytelling.

And given per Billy Flynn's account, Chad said goodbye to Julie and his children, which would [suggest] a quick rewrite to allow Flynn out, and then a period of time allowing Conner Floyd back on, without disrupting their stories for too long.

But I concur; I would have loved a Horton (or even a Brady) return.
