I just noticedd I don think we've ever had a Bill and Andre scene. I wish the show had set up a dynamic with them

and she keeps making cracks about Bill being old as if they arent about the same age. He may be just a couple of years older

I'm not the person this was asked of, but I can answer with my opinion. Dani had my sympathy at first, but as time went on, without her moving on, she became quite tiresome. I mean, in order to sway viewers' favor away from the wronged party, and toward favoring the homewrecker, says a lot about Dani's character and her portrayal on the canvas. Please note, this is not a swipe at the writers or Karla. I think the Dani we've been getting is exactly who we were meant to get.

See, what I love about Michelle and her team of writers is the way they write characters that are well fleshed out. Dani is not a one-dimensional victim, as she would look like on paper. She is annoying, opinionated, far from accurate in her thoughts and actions, manipulative, obsessed, and has no inhibitions. She seems angry about the circumstances of being cheated on, but we then learned that she didn't care about the same scenario in the past, as long as Bill stayed with her. She is pissed because she was abandoned. Not only that, she was traded in for a younger model orphan, presumably from the wrong side of the tracks. Dani's parents convinced her that her name makes her special. That is why she doesn't understand how anyone could be more appealing than her.

We also heard her cry about giving up her career because Bill wanted her to and he wanted her to focus on having his children. However, Bill tried that ish with Hayley and she wasn't having it. And, even now that Hayley is expecting, Bill hasn't mentioned her giving up work, throughout the pregnancy or afterward. Could Bill have simply suggested that Dani give up modeling and she just quickly folded for her man because she has no backbone (and now she blames him)? Or, did Bill really coerce her? Again, there are no black and white characters, so who knows where the truth lies?

So, it's not the fact that Dani has reacted to this situation that makes her annoying. It is HOW she reacted and continues to act. She needs to take a page out of Nicole's playbook and calm down. But, she can't. That's not who she is. And, that is what makes Dani a polarizing character. For some of us, our sympathy has run out. Others are 100% behind her antics. That is the paradox the writers purposely created and it works like a charm, because she is neither a villain nor a heroine.

I like the middle-of-the-road characters, though. Like Bill himself... He is more a complicated Roger Thorpe than a Stefano DiMera or Helena Cassadine. Bill, like Roger, is never a cartoon. He loves Naomi and Chelsea just like Roger loved Blake and Hart.

That being said, Leslie is headed for DiMera/Cassadine territory, and I love Trisha as much as the next viewer, but I getting tired of Leslie now. The only time she is really tolerable is with Eva. I don't understand why she keeps pushing her away when it is obvious that she still loves her deeply. Obviously, there is more to the story. I would rather they build on the backstory of Leslie/Eva/Alan (once the blowback from the anniversary party plays out).

I stated a while back about Andre being designated as a playboy. That's really not how he's being portrayed. A playboy is generally the male equivalent of a whore. So he should be acting more like Vanessa, having sex with everyone he can find. But he sleeps only with Dani and pines for Ashley.

    • ICAM on the writers not really allowing Reva to develop and grow. There was no longer a reason for her to be greedy, but she's still the teen chasing after Josh with the irrational need to lie to "protect" him. I guess the writers were scared of losing what made Reva tick. Which I don't see how they could have, since Kim wouldn't have allowed that. I skip more Reva-centric stuff too. I've had to watch her scenes with Billy, but I'm solidly on his side.
    • Highest rated shows to be cancelled The Waltons, Lobo, BJ & The Bear, Checking In. I think The Waltons had run it's course and would only had dropped further if given another year. One of the select group that never changed timeslots. NBC should probably held onto Lobo as they didn't have many hits. It might have been useful programming Sat @8 paired with Barbara Mandrell or Friday opposite Dallas or left Tues @8 to be paired with Bret Maverick. Father Murphy could have been placed Thurs to attract The Waltons viewers. As for Checking In it was only 4 eps and the placement resulted from the 1st ep bumping up overall numbers. A spin off from a spin off was too much. Lowest rated renewals NBC Magazine and Hill St Blues. NBC had no luck getting a news show to work. They tried Weekend, Prime Time and the Magazine -still to come were Monitor and First Camera. Hill St caused a stir and raves from the critics so they wisely renewed it and it paid off. Like Flo the season before Private Benjamin/Two of Us couldn't maintain the ratings they garnered as late season short flight entries.
    • The implication that Rita saying Roger raped her was done for the sake of his rape trial with Holly is interesting, as that wasn't really the case. Maybe it was if you just watched the show, I don't know as I've never seen the episodes, but the Dobsons wrote it as a rape between Roger and Rita and then wrote the Roger and Holly rape in part because of the show turning what he did to Rita into a seduction. I did not realize the only reason the Roger and Holly rape material exists is due to the actors saving it. I guess P&G didn't start saving their material until very late in 1979, based on the German DVD release.

    • Ashley looks like the Wicked Witch as little Victoria used to call her.
    • justin Jackson Y&R hairdresser posted on Insta that for Nikki's birtday do he envisioned Marilyn Monroe/rockstar. What on God's Green Earth do those 2 concepts have to do with one another? and how are they appropriate for a society grandmother in her late 60's? Her dress had nothing to do with that concept. And the rest of the guests all looked pretty horrible. Why was Nick in a sweater at a formal party? 1Save 1Save
