Dani needs to start a video podcast. About messy disgusting cheating husbands. Get more viral than her daughter. She should use her newly found unhinged fame after the leaked live and her mugshot. That's what I want to see her do. And it will be a lot easier to shoot and arrange than having her strut around a runway. And way more interesting in terms of writing.

When life gives you lemons... make lemonade.

P.S The podcast should be called "Trust no bitch".

First episode - "How a conniving slut stole my husband. Now I'm going to tell you how to prevent this happening to you."

I thought today was a good episode. But in the grand scheme of RC breakdowns, I liked his second one more. Things that stood out as RCisms was the thankfully very brief mention of the cat story that people didn't even like from his first breakdown, Dani's little jump excitement as she ran up the stairs which made me think of moments from his other shows, and we know I love Nosy Nurse and she saved all of it due to the actress playing her so please don't stone me, but how she was in the episode echoed (slightly thank God) OldRecipe Brad on GH and what I know of Leo on DAYS. But again...the character has already been established as Nosy Nurse and the actress has the best ability of elevating everything she's in. In fact, if it was those aforementioned characters, it would have been sillier. Nosy Nurse can be that way, too, but the actress perfectly grounded it in reality. THAT is a skill.

I think what I liked about this episode is the fact that everything was moving nicely. It does seem like this week is going to be about the lawsuit and its dynamics among the Duprees and Andre's drama though. I like the former, but I know there are going to be problems with the latter.

I love that we are getting to see more of Naomi. I realized today that I guess I haven't gotten quite a feel on her outside of the other third generation Duprees. But seeing her in work mode, I really enjoy her and what it reveals about her character. She was giving a bit of Olivia Pope with some Christine Blair today, and I didn't mind it. I'm really looking forward to Father vs Daughter. They feel evenly matched. Meanwhile, the subplot with her man and the corrupt cop(?) continue. And them having individual stories is really allowing for them to be rootable as the first together couple we saw in the first episode.

Chelesa vs Hayley was great, too. Chelesa got all the good licks in on her. And I honestly like seeing Hayley get out of the bubble she's been in with only Bill and Dani by interacting with others. First Naomi which was long overdue and now Chels. Go on. Will she be able to repair any rift between Bill and Chelesa/Naomi? Time will tell. And then Chelesa having to have a firm hand with Mommy Dearest. Watch that girl grow.

Dani, Dani, Dani. So much one step forward, two steps back with her. I honestly felt like she really wanted to help Chelesa. And it seem like Chelesa got through to her why she can't. And then she was tempted by the drink. And then she got that call from Bill. And then I rolled my eyes cuz I knew she was going to take that the wrong way. And not helped by how easily her and Bill go into their old roles as husband/wife. And the fact that Bill can when he is newly married is soooo telling. And God, Timon and Karla have great chemistry. And don't think I didn't notice how they were sat at the beginning of the reminiscing. Cuz by the end, their legs were touching. And I gasped and shook my head when Dani kissed him.

I'm sure I'll feel differently later, but I felt today was the first time I was annoyed with Ashley. I think for me, while the start of Andre/Ashley has been nicely paced. Now...it felt very paint-by-numbers. I did like that Derek verbalize his jealousy to Jacob. But, like I said earlier, the show flowed smoothly without them so having them back...at the moment...felt like a clunker storyline. Not even Nosy Nurse could save it. And she was the best part of their storyline.

Ooooo cool!

Dani is larger than life, just like Erica Kane was.  No way she'd do something small or middling.

I could totally see Dani as a talk show host! It would be a natural progression for her character.  Dani has the dynamism and connections to bring on guests, and the business acumen from her years as Chelsea's momager.

But a talk show would be too difficult to film for this soap, as there is no way for BTG to show Dani  interviewing celebrities - the show certainly couldn't afford to bring in real celebrities, and fake ones wouldn't work.

I think @Maxim's idea of a podcast might work?

At first I thought maybe Dani could do some sort of DuchessMeghan/GwynethPaltrow fancy home show, as a blog?  But it would have to be deluxe and trendy, with lots of followers.  Not your average home&family thing.  But still, I think that would be way too confining for Dani's persona.  So, no to that. She'd find it boring.

I think ultimately it will be something that builds on Chelsea's social media brand, which Dani will copy and adapt for her own thing, whatever that thing is.

I think she's perfect for it. Podcasts are messier than polished shows. I also think something like this will be a perfect place for her to voice her anger in a more healthy type of way. She will feel heard and validated and won't need to resort to violence and law-breaking stuff. And imagine the fun and hilariousness when her fan base starts turning on Haley. It can get very modern and thematic. Youtube is full of women like Dani who have hundreds of thousands of followers listening to their messy lives.

But I trust MVJ will think of something even more interesting. I'll let myself be surprised. I'm not a good writer... so I don't pretend to have a good idea.

I'm sure MVJ can think of million better things.

On what planet is Jacob hotter than Andre?

In my mind, Andre is the hotness of BTG.

Not seeing any connection.

I'm like "damn girl you thirsty".

Yes, that topped my list, particularly because of course the actor playing Tomas was complete at sea trying to make that reference sound natural (I think he even made an awkward hand gesture.)  But I felt like it was throughout Monday's episode, lots of characters saying "indeed" etc.  Just dialogue that on the page might read as more clever than normal, but did not work.

    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.

    • A little too much focus on Chad and Cat today but I enjoyed the episode. I have a feeling that Jennifer’s gonna get dumped on though, even though I think that her anger is completely understandable and justified. And honestly, Ron is finally gone; Abigail can come back now.  But, welcome back, Anna! It was nice seeing Carrie have scenes with her mother. Christie Clark and Leann Hunley have never really had that many scenes together and to see them have them now is really nice. I’m glad that both of them were there to comfort Marlena too. Their words were definitely the thing that Marlena needed to hear. Btw, with all this talk of Noah, does it mean that he’s gonna be introduced soon? Amy, revealing that John changed her flat tire many years ago seemed a little random though. I would rather she have said something about how everybody in Salem knows of John Black because of how he was always such a hero. But at the same time, her story also showed what a great guy John was.  I liked Kate’s scenes with Philip too, and her promise to get back at Xander for what he did. And since we didn’t see JPL in the bed, did he need some time off or something? And yeah, everything involving ‘One Stormy Night’ still seems very Ron-like to me.
    • The second photo featuring the late John Spencer is from the Law & Order episode, "Prescription For Death", which was the (second) pilot/first episode all the way back in 1990! He played the father of a daughter that had gone to the ER for a mere sore throat but ended up dead because the doctor on call was drunk and had given her medication that she had an adverse reaction to, after receiving some other medication. So, he will always have that great distinction in addition to The West Wing. (The first pilot, "Everybody's Favorite Bagman", was filmed in 1988! The show was offered to CBS, but they passed. In syndication, it is oddly placed as the sixth episode of Season 1. And Roy Thinnes played DA Alfred Wentworth there. When NBC picked up the show two years later, Thinnes declined to return, and that's how we got Steven Hill's DA Adam Schiff.)
    • exactly. I can understand schadenfreude if it were real, but a lot of this is just an engineered distraction.
    • Days of our Lives S60E204 – Thursday, June 5, 2025 Okay, today’s episode was kind of boring. It was nice seeing Jack and Jen back, but they wasted an entire episode on Jen chatting with Julie - one scene would’ve been enough. Also, why didn’t Jack and Jen go comfort Marlena? And wouldn’t a flashback with Jack, Jen, and John have been great? Maybe something from the Cruise of Deception era? Bottom line - it feels like once John’s memorial is over and the returning fan favorites leave Salem… the show’s going to be dull again.
