I just can't with the Jack v Victor battle. Do they really think we want to sit through another rehash of a story that's been done so many times?

Eric and Peter probably aren't given scripts-they just repeat lines they've said so many times, they could recite them in their sleep.

Still not sure why psycho Martin chose to kidnap Sharon and Phyllis- 2 total strangers? Like he didn't have enough on his plate impersonating his brother and romancing Traci?

Agreed.  The way this soap opera is written is really strange.  I can barely sit through an episode.  Every strong storyline (and there aren't many) involves some evil outside entity arriving in town and causing trouble for a character or two. And when that evil person leaves town, dies, or goes to jail, there is never any real lasting impact -- it's as if the entire stupid plot never happened.

In a well written soap, most of the plots derive from characters causing trouble for themselves, or occasionally each other.  Depending on evil villains from out of town all the time is a mark of poor writing, lazy writing, or big YAWN!!!

Why not have Jack, Billy and Kyle work at Jabot -the family business?

A couple of office sets are that's needed.

And assorted other characters eg Sally,Mariah  could work there and interact, thus setting up business/family rivalries.

And instead of nonsensical/vague business stories, they could deal with issues related to that business.

Trying to stay relevant in a fast changing marketplace. Deciding what direction to go in.

Maybe having to scale back and get rid of Marchetti and any other offshoots.

Using influencers to push product and dealing with fallout when one of them does/says something controversial. Kyle may have pushed to get this person on board and now Billy uses that against him.

Drop all the media companies and the restaurant workplaces.

I don't watch enough to know who works where. I assume Nate, Devon, Audra and Lily all work together. Is that a media company?

Victor, Nikki, Victoria, Adam, Claire all work at Newman I assume.

Chelsea, Mariah and Sally work where?

Daniel? Tessa?

The restaurant meetings are the worst, and this week was especially bad.

Look at Nate and Audra. They had a long dinner at home, but then went to the GCAC lounge for drinks and dancing....FOLLOWED BY A TRIP TO CRIMSON LIGHTS, just so they could run into someone else who'd been in some restaurant earlier.

It's absolute insanity, and I hate it. No other soap is this bad with sets, not even DAYS.

Except they kept the communal lots for easier use for a more widespread use of actors. Realistically, the Jabot set would limit the usage to the Abbotts. Newman does the same, but they also had that small-ass DAYS-like set until recently; meanwhile, the Abbotts always had the Abbott estate.

For me, they made the right decision. Returning the GCAC was a huge undertaking, especially in restoring it to its full usage. They have no overnight crew, especially post-COVID, so they needed to be smart about what sets they used, and I believe they made the right choice of sets to use.
