The dialogue Nina had about how men view women vs. how they actually can put their money where their mouth is made me think of horny old PM in the driver's seat tbh. Not that I am complaining. It was uncharacteristic and a refreshing perspective.

And yes, that is a taste of how Cameron used to be in his golden days. There is a reason he used to be very popular on AMC before the rot set in BTS, and why he became a successful TV host. I've never had a problem with CM, it is the writing and choices that trigger his worst acting impulses and make him unbearable to watch sometimes. But he's hot again with the beard and a more breezy and fun approach to the character, which is how he should be used.

I think the teasing of Kristina’s mistrust and suspicion of Ava is interesting foreshadowing. I think Kristina may unravel Ava’s plans against Sonny, or Ava may do something that causes Kristina to miscarry (and ending this unnecessary surrogacy storyline).

Didn't Faith do just that with Liz or someone else back in the 2000s? Ava's bangs and slutty sheer blouse are giving Faith Rosco to the hilt, right down to swanning around Sonny ready to get him into bed.

Meanwhile: Maybe it's me, but those Heather scenes with Kevin and Laura last week were genuinely good and touching IMO. The Tracy stuff has also been wonderful across the board, as others have already touched on.

Yes! I've always though of Ava as alternate Faith! Not sure which one of them I like more.

I am surprised to see the support for the Drew/Nina scene, lol!

Where are they going with Carly/Jagger. So far I see Carly's rescue as a catalyst for Jagger to soften and drop his leverage on her....dare I say romantic intentions pitted against Jason???

I'm calling it now: they are going to re-tell the Jagger / Jason / Karen storyline with Jagger / Jason / Carly. I am calling it. Classic soap: re-telling of a story in modern times, with a bit of a different take.

It was a brilliant quote and definitely felt like classic soap. Totally a Mulcahey move in what felt like a Korte-filled episode.... if that makes sense? And the beard HELPS him as Drew. The beard holds the power... but still, the writing choices from Van Etten & O'Connor, as well as the strike team really dampered his work as Drew for me.

I do not need two men fighting over Carly lol.  I have a hard time believing one man would tolerate her let alone two.

Still giggling over Drew's shirt and the goodness of Nina/Drew.  I can't wait to watch Sonny and Carly's heads explode when they find out!

And I know everyone loves Maura West, but some of those faces she was making were right out of a Saturday Night Live parody like someone noted earlier.  I just find Ava so campy, in mostly a good way, but I am not sure if it's intentional on MW's part.

I keep saying this! @DRW50 called it Fire Marshall Bill from In Living Color years ago and Maura has no chill with this stuff, God bless. Her 'poker face' during the Connie mystery days was hilarious. I love it.

She’s straight out of a Dynasty drag act I saw a few years ago, lol.

But, tbh, some of the styling choices for Ava recently have reminded me of what I saw of Louise Shaffer’s turn as Stephanie on SEARCH.

Ha! Ha!  That is an accurate assessment.  Kate Mansi had the same WTF expression I did while watching Ava/Sonny interact.

EWWWW.  To the Carly triangle.  I feel like we already watched various versions of this nonsense for years and I still don't get why anyone would want to deal with Carly.  Unless these guys just really find good hair extremely attractive.

I swear MW could be a silent film star.  Her expressions are so OTT.

I am not terribly familiar with her ATWT work, but from what I have seen she was slightly more subtle, but Ava is practically a cartoon character, so fair enough.

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
