People still TO THIS DAY talk about Debbi Morgan's turn as the manipulative Seer on Season 4 of CHARMED, giving that seasonal arc a deliciously sinister presence that it really need. She played it serious. She played it camp. She was EVERYTHING in her wardrobe. I would love for her to play a villain again. Heck, I liked her as the ice queen head nurse on PORT CHARLES from what little I saw of her.

I also love your taste because Daphnee's Nicole is also the one that most interests me. I've loved Daphnee Duplaix since her days on OLTL. And something about her presence (and that bring scene between her and KM's Dani that hint at their dynamic) that draws me in.

Debbi was great on Port Charles. She was the victim to them launching a show with no plan. I've been doing a watch (I've only seen the arc years) and the early months are painfully slow and the characters and storylines are so under-developed. You can tell they just picked it up because it was a cheaper concept than the alternatives. Unfortunately, they never got around to making her character worthwhile.

BTG, on the other hand, is night and day to Port Charles or a Sunset Beach. It seems like they have a very clear concept and view of who they want these characters to be. I can't wait to see how things come together.

Daphnee was great on Passions as well. On OLTL I wasn't expected her to be able to Rachel with all her nuances because I was so used to the insanity of Passions. She did a great job in the role and was the only Rachel I loved other than the original. I don't understand how she didn't become a mainstay until the show ended.

I'm so happy for Daphnee, but whenever I see her each day now I still shed a tiny tear for what might have been with her and Dan Gauthier. They could easily be Kevin and Rachel Buchanan, a tentpole couple for a 2020s OLTL lol. But that would never service her as well as BTG clearly is.

I believe it. I was into PC...if only for the music in the premiere, but I was in school so much at the time so it was always hit or miss when I saw her. And then next thing I knew she was recasted. I do remember it being mentioned about how it was a cheaper concept to the alternative as well. That said...it's not the case with BTG which to quote from one of my favorite series growing...plans within plans.

I felt the same re: Daphnee's Rachel. She was a great cast for a good recast hindered by writing. I look forward to seeing what Daphnee's Nicole is like and what twists she will surely have.

I’ve enjoyed both specials so far. I will say this - the immense care and thought being poured into the show makes me hungry for more new soaps that are traditional daytime dramas exploring untapped character/story resources. I want my rural daytime soap, damn it!!

Love that they highlighted the soap experience of Tamara, Daphnee, and Karla (and Cady and Jon). A part of me was hoping they’d go super old school and bring out a clip of Clifton Davis from the series finale of “A World Apart” just to drive home the fact that the core four have all done daytime.

I’ll be completely honest and say that meeting “the others” was the first time I even knew who most of those characters would be. I think I want to be introduced to everyone as they appear on the show next week. It’s my first feeble attempt at being spoiler-free for this bad boy.

Re: the gay son dating a white man. I don’t think it needs to be explained or be a thing at all lol it’s 2025, people date inside and outside their race.

OOooo I feel like the Theater techie is going to have a field day with tomorrow. lol.

Just done with today's preview and yep...I am going with my intuition from when I first heard about it...loving Daphnee as Nicole. And I just feel like when push comes to shove, Daphnee's Nicole is going to a force a la Jean Randolph and Daphnee can and will play it to the hilt. No alters though.

I found it so informative for some of the third generation Duprees that I know very little about though I love all of the actresses' vibe and their excitement. And Hheeeey, Mr. Clayborn, hey.   I also liked having more information on some of the other minor players...especially Cady's character who sounds like a sidekick sidekick...which could be fine. And she was rocking those bangs. And I can't wait to see what the Eva/Dana duo do going forward.

And they really wanted Tamara. RESPECT. And Clifton did WICKED??

It was good.

Same. This was my first real exposure to a lot of other characters outside of the Duprees and I can't wait to start having impressions now on some of the third generation ones and minor characters.

@All My Shadows I understand what year we are in but when a show prides itself on serving the underserved I would expect them to kick off with something I don't believe we've ever had on any of the other soaps. It feels like a misopportunity to me!

Thanks for responding. I'm not sure I want it to come up in the story. I just wanted to know why the creators made that decision.

You're right it could. And some do I won't negate that fact! Hopefully, they won't be the only gay couple though.

They didn't mention or cover half the cast, including most of the core characters' spouses or love interests. They didn't cover Bill or Hayley, they didn't mention Nicole's husband or Tomas Navarro (apparently for Kat), etc. I don't think it's a specific thing re: the gay couple because it was across the board.

Cady's character was said to be a local spa owner, so I can see her hanging around. I suspect both of them are recurring.

I would suspect the twenty cast members that initially got announced ⏤ as outlined on the press site ⏤ are the regulars, and the remaining are recurring. I know Maurice P. Kerry's own website lists him as "heavy recurring" in the role of Randy Parker. But yes, pretty sure the roles/actors listed on Paramount Press are the series regulars, especially considering they were the ones announced in three separate press releases (with mass press coverage).
