This! The fact that Anita was part of a girl group then broke away to go solo brings up so many Dreamgirls-coded possibilities. I can imagine Bill or Leslie bringing one of Anita's ex groupmates to Fairmont Crest to expose her sordid past. It feels like there is a lot of backstory behind every character which gives us a lot to look forward to.

I am about to watch a second time but I don't think we heard from Jibre Hordges, Alex Alegria, Sean Freeman, Mike Manning, Timon K. Durrett, or Marquita Goings in this installment. It's a short episode so I'm not bothered. I was mainly interested in hearing more about the Thomases and more behind-the-scenes information.

Tamara Tunie's story was very emotional.

I'm so happy that BTG was able to scoop her up. She is one of daytime's unsung icons and I'm thrilled that she is fronting this show.

Colby Muhammed (Kat, Nicole's second daughter) is the one to watch for me so far. I like her energy and hope her lack of TV experience isn't an issue. Judging by sides and other material they're supposed to be playing her with Alex Alegria (Tomas, the young lawyer at Bill's firm).

I have a question/concern about Martin but I do not want to get bash for it.

Same! The possibilities are endless with a character like Nicole. So many fun directions she can go down. She and her husband could be in all kinds of foolery behind the scenes, maybe they hate each other,  you could even give her a split personality

I love the excitement surrounding all of this.

Yes, the actors' enthusiasm, and also the excitement and even joy we're all feeling at getting something new. This also extends to production -- the writers, the directors, the executive producer. I can feel their energy and drive in making BTG special.

It also reinforces my feeling that head writers need to change on the other soaps -- before their writing becomes staid and boring and lacking that fire. Likewise, an executive producer shouldn't be around "forever." New directors should be brought in to keep things fresh.
