Even if Amanda wasn’t dynamic I do miss MM’s presence on the show. 
 

Josh Griffith is probably glad she doesn’t hold a grudge as he knows he blew it. 

Getting rid of Hilary Curtis remains one of the most idiotic decisions that Y&R made in the last decade, and that’s saying a whole lot.

Mal Young’s dumbest decision. I still wish for a recton that she’s in a coma somewhere and Phyllis and/or Neil staged her somewhere because she asked them too so Devon would

move on easier.

I actually stopped watching the show for a long time after that. It was so stupid.

Killing off Hilary was an idiotic decision, only because the likelihood of her returning was fairly strong.

But Mal wanted the super dramatic death bed wedding etc,

Short term gain(perceived) and long term pain.

Amanda never stood a chance, especially when her back story was played out through convos at restaurants and hotel rooms.

Me too, come to think of it. Was it Mal that gave that insulting interview about killing her off being a “gift” to viewers? And then implying that her pregnancy was somehow costing the show. I can’t remember exactly what was said but at the time I was pissed! That woman worked wonders, she actually made Bryton (who I have nothing against, I actually think, given the right material, can perform as well as most of the other actors) look like one half of a bona fide soap supercouple. Even if they we to bring the actress back as Hilary tomorrow, I don’t think they would be able to restore what they once had, not with these writers.

Me too! I quit cold after 30 years when they killed off Hillary. It was such a waste of a good character. Just last year I started binge watching on Amazon Prime, but I'm not longer a regular.

Sadly they messed up Amanda, but I did love the scenes where she caught Abby and Devon. That was one of the best cheating confrontations I've ever seen on a soap. Amanda read that man for filth, which he had coming. I've always liked Devon. but he sure betray people at the worst possible moments in their lives.
