Michael’s such a wimp. Just gotta put that out there lol but I am looking forward to tomorrow. That was a good cliffhanger.

And I’m also looking forward to everything regarding Bobbie tomorrow.

And it was good seeing Lindsay Hartley as Sam again. She just seems a lot less moody as Sam, similar to how Eric on Days was when Jason Gerhardt subbed.

And I agree with what @John says about Lois and Olivia.

An Italian wife wouldn’t turn on their husband like that

@Toups, I think the credits aired today.

As someone who was last watching GH regularly back when Stafford was Nina, I have a few questions.

Why is this SEC thing such a big deal? Did Nina get Drew sent to prison or something?
Also how the hell did Drew end up with Carly of all people. When she and Sonny found out he wasn’t Jason they dropped him like a bad habit and he seemed to be happy living life away from them with Sam.

When did Sonny and Carly break up again for the 1000th time? I know Nina kept his old identity from him a few years ago so I’m confused how they ended up an official couple.

Drew had his attorney set up a plea deal. He'd plead guilty to Insider Trading & get 6 months at a white collar "country club" prison. The judge didn't like the deal. Accepted the guilty plea & instead sentenced Drew to 3 years at Pentonville, where he was beaten within an inch of his life. They almost killed him. Cyrus sorta did save his life.

Carly had to pay a 5 million dollar fine.

The Insider Trading was a total flop. The merger did not go through. Carly had borrowed against her half of the Metro Court to buy the stock. She lost her half of the Metro Court.

When Sonny finally remembered who he was he returned home. Jason & Carly had just married. The families were not tolerating Carly well & he had to either kill her or marry her. So it was an arranged marriage for the sake of the mob families. But, as they got closer & closer to their wedding they began to consider what if they made it really a marriage. Sonny wanted to be back with his family but he refused to blame Nina. There was a lot of confusion & suspicions & many partial conversations.

One night Sonny sent word to Carly to come meet him on the Haunted Star. She did not go immediately. Then she did go. Sonny got the mistaken impression that she wasn't coming. When Carly arrived & walked into the bedroom, he & Nina were in the bed & had quite obviously just had sex.

I'm getting a kick out of these major publications attempting to cover soap news:

Not only don't they link to SID's article, but this is Lindsay's third time portraying the character which they even note with their inputting 2020 and 2022 in their own article. Then they take posts from X/Twitter to prove "fan outrage."

Sigh.

Well, I was so looking forward & it did not disappoint. I have only 1 complaint & that is the juxtaposition of Carly's last line, "My mom's dead." to a chorus & orchestra giving a maniacal performance of "Deck The Halls" as the music that carried us out while they ran the traditional full credits!

I thought Lois did the right thing.

Carly and Drew did in fact break the insider trading laws re: ELQ or Aurora or something. Nina just reported it. The show has made it into way too big a deal considering they were actually guilty lol.

No one knows. They just needed a pairing for Laura Wright tbh. It's awful.

They broke up a couple years back not too long after Sonny returned from Nixon Falls with Nina. I don't remember how long - maybe six months? Maybe nine? Sonny realized his feelings for Nina were still there and ultimately left Carly for her. I don't love any of it either.

It cracks me up that Nina is going to get eviscerated for this and she didn't do anything wrong.  Believe me there are reasons to hate Nina, but not for this.  The show actually is saying since the deal fell apart and everyone lost money Carly and Drew shouldn't face consequences.   Carly and Drew are just stupid.  It doesn't mean they didn't break laws lol.

I thought Sonny/Carly also broke up because Carly was in love with Jason.  The show really seemed to be going there, but Steve didn't end up getting vaxxed.

I don't remember that being nearly as much of a factor as Nina. I thought the Jason thing was mostly swept under the rug the instant Sonny returned (which I agree was idiotic, but the Jason/Carly romance reprise was also super rushed and inexplicable to begin with - that story with Sonny back could've been legitimately good), but I barely paid attention.

The entire Sonny/Nina situation has always been super strange tbqh. While I like Watros and think she and MB have chemistry, I do not care about Nina and actively hated her when Stafford had the role; she could leave tomorrow. That said it's almost like the show has to endlessly humiliate her because they want Sonny/Carly back together for the FB hausfrau audience, or want to make sure that audience is appeased, or like some of the writers (Liz Korte still?) are hardcore for Carly, but they’re seemingly stuck with this pairing because Maurice wants it. Like, there’s never not been a period when they are not making Nina out to be the worst person to hit PC just because she won Sonny - she is always either apologizing for something or embarrassing herself or being scorned by half the town. It's like if they can't have S&C back together they still have to make sure the new love interest eats shît.

it’s somewhat similar to the resentful writing for Robin that cropped up at times, which was never as bad as this. But there were many, many scenes where she was told how lucky she was that Patrick could ever want her, how close he and Carly were, how sanctimonious she was and so on. They could never do Robin like they did Nina and they were clearly invested in her still, but there was an undercurrent there sometimes from Guza or someone under him. They even had Anna tell Robin over and over how lucky she was to have a catch like Patrick, lol.

The Sun is a bottom-of-the-barrel excuse of a "news publication" that it's laughable they're even trying at this point.

Rena Sofer & Laura Wright... whew. You can tell Wright was not acting. We're about to see some incredible episode of acting (and I don't even want to call it acting, because we know so many will be using their real emotion).

Because, once again, "saint Carly" cannot be touched, and has not been touched since the "writer" took over in 2012. She's been untouchable since then, and it's quite annoying to see happen time-and-time again.

Well, the only reason Nina turned them in was because she was pissed off & as Ava pointed out to her it was an incredibly stupid thing for her to do, for 2 very good reasons. 1. Sonny who likely wouldn't care for being with a snitch and 2. Willow who she wants to have a relationship with & who she knows treasures Carly. To me those are the valid reasons why Nina has allowed herself to be blackmailed. If she was so right then she should have come clean to these two people months ago!

You might have noticed that I mentioned that Jason & Carly were considering having a real marriage not just an arranged one. But, I honestly don't think Carly's feelings for Jason had anything to do with their break-up. If she had to choose between Sonny & Jason as far as husbands go, she would always choose Sonny. And once he reappeared she did choose Sonny. They would not be divorced today if she hadn't caught him in bed with Nina.

    • Loved Valerie Mahaffey as crazy as a box of frogs Sandy Cooper on Wings. 2025 needs to chill out already. May Ms. Mahaffey rest in peace.
    • She was great on there. And Wings. And so many shows. I don't feel like we get those character actors as much now.
    • Cady did have a southern accent as Dixie in her first few years playing the character... but it started to minimize the longer she played the character (which tracks because my aunt had a heavy southern accent when married my uncle and years living in the north has softened it quite a bit). Her initial stint playing Rosanna was partly due to mirroring the previous actress and eventually developing her own take on the character. And the thing about her take as Kelly on Y & R was that she was too sedate when she first took over playing the role (she was supposed to play a woman that had recently lost her child.. and trying to keep things together) and then went OTT crazy and didn't play it well.    And I don't care to remember her attempt at playing Jennifer on Days. I think this Pamela character is the first time she's playing a character from the start and I think she's like a kid at a candy store.  She's having so much fun trying different things... and I hope eventually she decides to settle on a more consistent character for Pamela (perhaps her love of accents is a character trait based on something traumatic that happened to her in the past maybe).
    • That's sad. I remember her mostly from ER and the shortlived, yet very funny, sitcom The Powers That Be.
    • As always loved seeing Ric with Liz. I hope the show forever keeps them in each others orbit even if it’s just platonic. I’m sure she’s going to cut him out when she finds out he’s blackmailing Alexis though. So darn.
    • I have to be honest I’m really struggling with this show. I love everything with Eva/Leslie/Ted/Nicole/Kat and enjoy Dani and Bill’s shenanigans (I’m on the Hayley needs to be recast train now tho), Chelsea is second to Kat as my favorite Dupree grandkid and I loved her coming out to her mom. The show was on a truly great run with the big Leslie and Eva reveal at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party and the fall out has still been good even with the unnecessary Ted recast and them making Leslie kind of dumb by exposing herself too much unnecessarily. The real problem for me started when they rotated back to way too damn much screen time for Derek/Ashley/Andre (if anyone should have been up first for a recast it was these three IMO). They tried way too hard to drum up drama between Ashley and Derek and the actors were clearly fighting for their mediocre charisma less acting lives to make it work but none of it landed, just horrible. Naomi and Jacob and this weird homeless woman story are also BORING. I can see where its potentially going but IDGAF at all, my only hope for them is that they’re building a triangle with Naomi/Jacob/Kat because Jacob and Kat have stronger chemistry together than their current love interests (Eva is the only one who can make the awful Tomas work). Martin, his secret and still cringe worthy acting got kind of interesting with Bill dropping hints to Smitty but they completely lost me with that lil fakeout scene at the country club. The lame “teenagers” (air quotes because Samantha is no Bianca Lawson and never beating the black Andrea Zuckerman allegations) can get off my screen as well. Joey creeping on Vanessa is grossing me out at this point, I actually quite like Vanessa and Doug now but Joey falls totally flat as a villain and someone we’re supposed to buy Vanessa being enamored with. I’m glad they’ve finally set up something interesting for Vernon and Anita to do with this girl band reunion instead of Anita wringing her hands and telling us she feels darkness coming and Vernon giving a civil rights speech every episode but yeah… People who’ve posted with me for other shows know I’m not one for fast forwarding or hate watching either, if I find a majority of a show is not working I usually just quit but because of what this show represents for me as a Black male soap fan I really want to stick it out. Its just become a challenge lately. I saw Guza has left the building and I REALLY hope we hear about some more BTS changes. The additions of Tracy Thompson and Jamie Giddens don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence from me tho. Honestly praying hard for a new EP to replace JHC, a lot of the stuff that annoyed about her PC and AMC runs has started to match up here. I’m giving the show through the Summer to rectify some things but IDK how long I can hold on tbh. Its been a struggle to even finish some of these episodes lately.
    • I agree. I liked the episode but it felt jarring to suddenly return to a bunch of plots that had been put on pause since the Nurses' Ball started. Although I did like Laura popping in at the end to tell Alexis that millions of dollars have suddenly disappeared from Ace's trust fund. One set of scenes that made me feel optimistic for the next few months were between Sofia Mattsson and Rory Gibson. While Rory has been good as a darker, colder Michael this week, I was worried that he might not have much range. But he really warmed up with Mattsson, and I thought that (for the first time) Michael and Sasha had some genuine chemistry.
    • Next week is going to be such a sad time... I just feel it based on what was shown today. I'm wondering if the whole John being bandaged thing being a throwback to how he first arrived on the show was a Ron C idea since it just seems as though this would be something he would come up with.  If so, it's good that Cwikly/Ford are in charge with the implementing of the idea instead of him. Just a delayed thought from the Ciara scenes earlier in the week, or last week.. and how she had an odd way of dressing/acting.  I chuckle because little Ciara did say that she admired and wanted to be just like Kristen when she grew up.  So the fact that her outfit choices are so odd/off beat and her manner is a bit OTT just fits.. especially since Eileen's Kristen had an odd sense of fashion and that frantic OTT undertone to her delivery. With that said, a part of me wonders how Eileen's Kristen would have handled the scenes being done this week in regards to John's situation.
    • My god the smirking was back in full force today. He almost started smiling after Johnny mentioned he wouldn’t be there if EJ hadn’t raped Sami. I will say I did like seeing him with Dee as they’ve always had great chemistry.    They really are giving a lot of false hope with John getting better. I wish they hadn’t done that. Monday is going to be devastating. I really liked all the characters mixing and mingling today.  Nu-Rachel is still too sweet for me. Loved all the flashbacks. Everyone looked so young. Really enjoyed Brady’s scenes with John today.
