I believe Tracey has been on recurring by choice since she returned around 1999-2000 except when she briefly went back on contract in 2013.

Thanks, I was actually debating whether she belonged on that list. I also think Christian might have some arrangement where he is claimed to be on contract but basically is hardly on like he's recurring.

Man, if the news of KA's departure/firing can generate 12 pages of board discussion (and counting!), I'd hate to see how many pages we'd run to if someone more integral to B&B were given the heave-ho.

Either way, the bandwith's likely to explode at any moment.

Right, he's barely been on all of 2023. I always thought he and Taylor would have been interesting (even though she shot him!).

What about Paris? We saw her briefly during the fashion challenge. Is she even on contract anymore, too? Although, I always thought the character and the actress were a bit flat. I don't know why this show can't write for a woman of color. Maya and Nicole were the best chances they had, and they dropped the ball on both of them, too.

Katie doesn't really seem to have any sort of purpose at all. She could not have appeared at all these past few months, and the story would still progress. I was kind of intrigued by her pairing with Carter, but they've done ZERO with them.

If you're not playing Brooke, Ridge, Liam, Steffy, Hope, Thomas...and MAYBE Finn and RJ at this point....the future is VERY uncertain.

But, the show has been this way for years. Dropped storylines. Interesting new characters introduced, briefly used, and then unceremoniously dropped.

Quinn and Carter were the HOTTEST pairing the show had had in years, so predictably they dropped it.

Even Brooke and Taylor's "friendship" had promise to take the show in a different and new direction, and they dropped it because everyone needs to obsess over Ridge or Liam on this show.

Definitely. Here's the fundamental difference between B&B and the 3 other soaps - those other shows produce twice the content. Therefore, recurring on an hour show means a lot more possibilities for getting incorporated into episodes and minor storylines.

In fact, those recurring players are essential to those shows business model. Those established characters have so much history and connections to their respective canvases that they could be pulled into major stories easily. Not so on B&B

Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) on Y&R, she's been recurring for years, but she's still on and even in the opening credits. Ironically, as a fashion designer, she's been long erased on B&B.

Krista (at least write her name right if you are going to criticize) was a fabulous Taylor and based on the pretty much 99.9 to 0.1 reaction to her (pretty much everyone LOVED her), I think your perception is just that... yours and completely far from the universally perceived truth.

Also Hunter Tylo has been playing Taylor without that initial drive that she had the first years. In the end, it seemed like the actress was really DONE with all the [!@#$%^&*] she had to play. And I understand her completely.

If Bradley was not a..... he will invite Krista back in couple of months. But we all know this will never happen after what she said. He will hold that grudge as long as he lives.

You can't be far from the truth. Hunter played Taylor more serious and more dramatic. Krista played her more fun and more intelligent. Completely different approaches to the character. Both were amazing at some point.

    • Some of those 1988-ish episodes are up. I'm not really sure she did much else. I think I recall something along the lines of she and Rusty had been suspended over the investigation of Nicky, George's supplier. I'm not sure she even gets some kind of goodbye. I think she just disappeared when Pam Long returned.
    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
