Here are the recaps (excerpting relevant portions). It seems preposterous that this could be Eve. No one has motive to whisk her away. Cole wouldn't have had those sorts of connections.

NEIL, VICTOR, and NIKKI are in Olivia's office. Victor asks about Cole's presence with Victoria.. Olivia feels it was in Victoria's best interest. She tells them she's concerned about Victoria and may need to take some action soon, possibly exploratory surgery. Olivia doesn't want to do this, but Victoria is developing a very serious infection. Olivia needs answers. The tests aren't giving them to her. She tells them all that if they do the surgery, they may have may all have some quick decisions to make. Olivia gets called from the third floor about Victoria. She rushes out of her office without answering anyone's questions.

OLIVIA finds Victoria in excruciating pain and calls up OR, telling them to get prepared. She issuing orders like a general and orders a team in room 304 STAT. She goes to Victoria and tells her to try to calm down. Cole stands to the side in awe.

When Nikki, Victor and Neil arrive they all want to know what happened. Cole explains that suddenly Victoria was overcome with this awful pain and that she's on her way to the OR. Olivia is at the nurse's stations looking at the most recent test results and learns the white cell count is through the roof. Dr. Cromwell leaves immediately, stating he's going in. She tells them that Victoria's appendix has ruptured. Neil wants to know if they're going to take it out. Olivia tells him it's too late for that. Victoria and the baby are in crisis and they're trying to save their lives.

DR. CROMWELL is called to the OR and Olivia says that she has to go. She rushes out as Cole asks who Dr. Cromwell is. Neil tells him that he is Vicki's OB/GYN doctor. Cole realizes aloud that this means that something is going on to do with the baby. A nurse comes out of the OR and Victor stops her. She informs them that the baby has been delivered by C-section. She says that it is a baby girl and she is on her way to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. "Well, Cole, you are the father of a daughter," Nikki says.

VICTOR sits by Victoria's bedside and caresses her hair. When she wakes up, she is confused and he tells her that she is in the hospital; she has had surgery for her appendix. She is relieved that the problem was with her and not the baby. All that worry for nothing, she murmurs. Victor tells her to sleep; he says that she needs to gain her strength. Happy that her baby is okay, Vicki caresses her abdomen. She realizes that the baby is gone and asks her father what happened to her baby. Victor tells her that the baby was born by C-section; she has a daughter. She wants her baby; bring the baby to me! She demands. Victor tells her that the baby is in a special nursery. The doctor will explain it to her when she is better. No, Victoria insists. If they can't bring her daughter to her, she wants to go to see her daughter!

VICTORIA begs COLE to take her to see the baby but Cole reasons that the doctors know that their daughter needs to feel her mother's arms around her, but she's just had major surgery. Victoria admits that she got pregnant on purpose. She explains that before the business trip, Cole had been talking about having children and she couldn't handle it, so she stayed away longer than she had to. When she came back, she found that she'd alienated Cole completely and pushed him into the arms of another woman. Cole is stunned at first, but says that it makes sense to him now.

The nurse comes in to check Victoria's vitals. She finds that the stitches look good and her blood pressure is fine. Victoria begs the nurse to let her go to the nursery. She tells Victoria that she must follow doctor's orders. Not knowing how insensitive she's being, she tells Victoria that, after all, she'll have a lifetime with her baby. Victoria realizes that she doesn't know the situation, but she gets very emotional with Cole. She asks him if he could live with it if she didn't get to see their baby alive. Victoria doesn't care if there are tubes sticking out of her, she just needs to see her. Cole looks torn.

NEIL goes to the door of Victoria's room with the pastries (later handing them to a nurse to deliver) and sees Cole holding Victoria's hand and stroking it. He walks away and goes up to the nursery. He is watching Victoria and Cole's daughter. OLIVIA sees him and tells him that it looks like the baby is not going to make it. She says she could tell Victoria, but asks Neil if he could. She thinks it would be better coming from him. Neil looks up toward Heaven and softly asks why, and agrees he should tell Victoria. He can't do it immediately. He has to take some time to compose himself.

Through the doors of the nursery viewing room, Cole carries Victoria. They stand together in front of their daughter's incubator. Victoria touches the glass, as if to reach through to her little girl. Neil happens to see the two of them from the hallway. As Cole holds an agonizing Victoria, the steady rhythms of two things abide: the beep of the baby's heart monitor and tears streaming from the heart on the face of an agonizing mother.

At the hospital, COLE holds Vicki in his arms while she gazes into the special care nursery at her baby. Slowly, Cole stands her at the viewing window. With tears running down her cheeks, she tells Cole that she wants to name her baby; she wants her to know that she is somebody. Cole asks her what she wants to name her and Vicki says that she likes Eve, after his mother. Cole thinks that is a perfect name for her. She says that she wants the baby baptized as soon as possible and he tells her that he will make the arrangements. He gets a wheelchair and helps her back to her room.

COLE has taken Vicki back to her room and returned to the nursery. Neil is there and he walks up to Cole, telling him that he was out of line putting Vicki in jeopardy by bringing her up here earlier. Cole says that he couldn't deny her the one chance she may have to see her baby alive and he doesn't think Neil could have either. As they are arguing, the doctor comes up and tells Cole that he needs to talk to him. Neil leaves for Vicki's room. The doctor tells Cole that the baby hasn't much more time to live. Cole tells him that they want the baby baptized, but the doctor doesn't believe that there will be enough time. However, he tells the nurse to get in touch with the hospital chaplain and tell him that it is an emergency. "What about the mother?" The doctor asks. Cole tells him that she has had about all that she can handle. She just came down and saw the baby; maybe it would be best if she remembers the baby alive.

NEIL enters Vicki's room and sits down quietly. Vicki tells him that she isn't asleep. She tells him that she went to see the baby. She tells Neil that she is happy that she got to see her baby. She says that she named her Eve after Cole's mother. Neil says that that is a perfect name for the little girl. "She is so beautiful," Vicki says. "Of course she is beautiful," Neil answers. "Look at her mother." Vicki says that she has been thinking about life and how it starts from such a tiny speck, growing inside you until it is big enough to be born. It grows up and soon you are sending them off to college. Will I be sending Eve to college? She wants to know. Just then, the door opens and Cole walks in. Vicki can tell by the look on his face that the baby is gone. Neil gives Vicki a hug and a kiss. He rises and starts out the door, giving Cole a pat on the shoulder as she passes him. Cole walks over to the bed, sits and takes Vicki's hand. He tells her that Eve is gone. She died peacefully; she just couldn't fight any more. She wasn't alone when she died; he was there with her. The minister came and baptized her and said some beautiful words. Cole says that he told her that he loved her and that her mother loved her and then she was gone. "Thank God you were there with her," Vicki cries. "Oh God! Please hold me Cole!" Cole climbs upon the bed beside her and pulls a sobbing Vicki to his breast.

Everyone is waiting in the chapel for Vicki to arrive. Victor asks Nick if Sharon is coming. When Nick says that he told Sharon about it and left it up to her, Victor states that she damn well better show up; this is a family time when they have to be there for Vicki. Nick tells him to go easy on her because he is sure that this reminds her of the time when they almost lost Noah. Cole pushes Vicki into the chapel in a wheel chair just as Sharon arrives. Victor says that he is glad she could make it and she says that she wanted to be there for Vicki since she has an idea of what she is going through. Nick thanks her for coming just as Ryan announces that the minister is ready to begin.

When the service is over, everyone congregates near the nursing station to say their good-byes before taking Vicki back to her room. Victor tells her how brave she has been; he and Nikki kiss her and they leave. Nick and Sharon kiss her and Sharon tells her to call her for anything she may need. Cole is ready to take Vicki to her room but Neil steps in and says that he will do it. Vicki gives a panicked look to Cole but doesn't say anything. Nick tries to talk to Sharon but at first she brushes him off. Then she tells him that she isn't ready to go home yet. She suggests coffee together and he says he will take her to Gina's.

Nice to see history being respected.

Cole/Victoria sobbing in one another's arms after finding out they're 'related' was so sad..and the scene when Victoria threw her ring at Victor and blaming him for all that happened was powerful.  HT's Victoria always stood up to Victor and was so good at it.

For me, the Cole/Nina/Ryan/Victoria quadrangle was effective and ended too soon. Cole/Nina had chemistry, Nina/Ryan had chemistry, Ryan/Victoria had chemistry and Cole/Victoria had chemistry.  Plus Nina and Victoria were evenly matched in acting and verbal putdowns.

Shame he'll be saddled with sad sack AH as Victoria.

Have they learned nothing from saddling Nikki and Paul with Dylan?

Giving Victoria a grown daughter doesn't work for me. She already ignores her other children. And there is going to have to be a lot of explaining as to why it's taken this many years for it all to be revealed.

Having Cole return would have been enough.

Reading the transcript where Victoria chooses the name Eve after Cole's mother-a psycho who tried to murder her dad-so sweet!

Listen, I *still* don't understand why Nikki would name her son "Nicholas," after how her own father, Nick, had treated her.

Speaking of Nikki, I guess it makes sense for her to be tortured into falling off the wagon again, but...I dunno...I feel like that's a well they've gone to far too often.  And has her MS even been mentioned during this ordeal?  Wouldn't the stress she's under cause her to have some sort of relapse?

    • Very. They're building up his story again and picking the perfect time to do so. As the SilkPress storyline climaxes and go off in several great directions, they are building up that story to take a turn.

    • @Soapsuds Thanks for posting Night by night Mon 8pm The Rookies edged Gunsmoke but attracted younger(more desirable) viewers.NBC failed with Born Free/Smothers Brothers (how many different series did those 2 get??) 9-11pm  Maude/Rhoda/Medical Center dominated on CBS,but Football and Movies were competitive on an occasional basis. ABC tried  SWAT/Caribe later in the season and the former worked for them. Tues 8-11 pm CBS all the way Good Times, MASH, Hawaii Five O,Barnaby Jones. NBC had the fading Adam 12,Movie and Police Story mmm...don't see that listed? ABC Happy Days, which ABC decided to keep despite lackluster ratings, the Movie of the Week and Marcus Welby-once pulling big numbers but no longer. 8pm NBC had a new hit with Little House, easily beating Sons and Daughters, which was axed and replaced with Tony Orlando, which did much better. ABC had That's My Mama and the Wed movie. 9pm Cannon was the lead here as Lucas Tanner failed to capitalize on the LHOTP leadin. ABC continued the movie. 10pm Manhunter started strong for CBS but petered out and was cancelled. Petrocelli manged to beat Get Christie Love, which was replaced by Baretta-no ratings winner but ABC decided to renew. Thurs Another CBS night with The Waltons and a movie. ABC counterprogrammed with Odd Couple/Paper Moon then Barney Miller/Karen NBC did even worse with Sierra and replaced it with Mac Davis which improved ratings quite a bit. However, it was moved to 9pm for Sunshine/Bob Crane 9pm Some good numbers for ABC with Streets of San Francisco fending off Ironside,Archer and Mac Davis. 10pm Harry O had a slim victory over Movin On Fri 8-11 NBCs best night Sanford/Chico/Rockford/Police Woman. 8pm CBS had high hopes for Planet of the Apes but it bombed. Replacement Khan did even worse. Paul Sand and We'll Get By were tossed in at the end of the season. With poor lead ins the Friday movie didn't deliver. ABC's odd line up saw Kodiak flop, Six Million dollar Man struggle and Texas Wheelers  quickly cancelled. Kung Fu was brought in @8 and Six Million moved to 9. Then Kolchak took over at 8 and Hot*l Baltimore/Odd Couple 9-10. Despite controversy Hot*l flopped. 10pm ABC tried Kolchak then Baretta and finally Get Christie Love Sat CBS lead  with #1 AITF then Paul Sand/MTM/Bob Newhart/Carol Burnett. Paul Sand lost too much of the lead in so CBS spun off The Jeffersons and it was a smash. NBC did OK with Emergency (which beat Paul Sand on occasion, thus hastening that show's demise) and a movie. ABC was a disaster with New Land/Kung Fu and Nakia all failing. They introduced a movie @9 and moved Kung Fu to 8. Sun  NBC  with Disney and Mystery Movie (Columbo McCloud, MacMillan and Wife/Amy Prentiss)did well. ABC flopped with Sonny Bono and recovered by moving Six Million Dollar Man from Fri as a lead in to the movie. CBS hoped Apples Way would be another Waltons but no, so Cher did what Sonny couldn't. Kojak and Mannix successfully finished out the night. Two other shows on the ratings list were Adams of Eagle Lake starring Andy Griffith. Only 2 episodes aired and did well, so I'm not sure what happened there. As for The Law it was a series follow up to a 2 and a half hour NBC special movie .

    • Trust is very easily lost and very hard to re-build.
    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"...
    • GH 2-17-21 Denise Alexander's last appearance https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdjXgwJ1Ez/
    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
