I have waited *years* for this, and it didn’t disappoint. Rena Sofer and Amanda Setton have got the mother-daughter dynamic nailed, and RS’s adversarial chemistry with Jane Elliott is still there in spades. BLQ’s facial expressions during the Lois/Tracy exchange were gold…

I didn't see Lois's original run but with the dates involved, was there much time for Jane and Rena to overlap in story? It looks like late June - early October 1996 would've been the only time they were both on the show at the same time?

Did Jane have a lot of story with the second Lois?

IIRC, Tracy was instrumental in driving Rena's Lois out of town and out of Ned's life in '96, when she came back and made her life hell. They clashed over Ned, everything blew up and both characters left town within days of each other.

Lesli Kay's Lois and Tracy did overlap in the 2000s but I assume their scenes were minimal. I have no idea if they shared any at all but NuLois was a C-level character at that time.

I guess in a town where they believe that a necklace can control the weather, they'll buy anything, it's the perfect consumer audience (also, one assumes they had to be careful not to upset actual advertisers when choosing a product).

Rena is on contract per closing credits of Friday October 13.
I guess it's a short contract?

Rena said that she had been preparing to move to the East Coast with her husband.  She got this opportunity to reprise Lois on GH before she leaves Los Angeles.  It was not stated how long she is remaining in L.A.

"But with this Eddie Maine story happening, it just really seemed like an absolutely perfect time to have Lois come back for a short amount of time to try to get Eddie to remember that he’s Ned. So Frank reached out to me and asked me if I’d be willing to come back for a short amount of time and I said yes."  <snip>  "the story isn’t about me. The story is about Brook Lynn. The story is about Eddie Maine and Ned, so I need to respect that. This is not about me coming back and telling my story; this is about me coming back and supporting the stories that are there with me trying to create the knowledge of who Lois is now, 27 years later. So that is challenging, but also, part of the fun"

I mentioned this on the B&B thread:
Interestingly, on Friday Oct. 13, the new B&B opening photo credits debuted without Rena for the first time since she left in summer 2022.
On the same day that she began appearing in the contract section of GH closing credits.

So, I guess that means you think Cyrus's conversion was genuine? I would bet not.

I want Montague to do jail time & lose his license. Gladys may need to testify. Of course, that nurse can.

I wonder if Michael will apologize to Ned. Of course, Ned's NEddie now so mebbe not.

Does GH do fall sweeps? I'm wondering if there's any reason to hold off on revealing Nina as the whistleblower.

Tuesday she meets Chase

Gold!  Absolute gold.  Thank you for posting!

And yes.  Ned hated the business and loved doing music with Lois, so he did indeed win here!  This is the history I remember.

omg Tracy assuming Justin was a servant?

Damn, Blaze got to Puerto Rico really quickly

I’d like to see her and Kristina as a couple, but not before Kristina has a one night stand with Dex first

And I’m glad the show finally remembered of Mac being Cody’s father.  Cody’s actually grown on me, but yeah, I wasn’t really a fan of his pity party today lol

And, shut up, Michael

I like Cody, but yeah, that reason he gave for not wanting Mac to know he is his father was really weak, and didn't make much sense. Because he's not worthy??? How does that change the facts???

I don't think Josh Kelly bought it either. He's usually committed to playing whatever they give him, but I thought he tried to hide a grin through that awful excuse.

    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
