I would suggest that it's not per se a truthiness question. I believe he almost always or even always has some agenda behind whatever he's saying & we of course have no way of knowing what those many agendas might be. So his point of view dances around like a point of light. The only time I think "That's it. That is his core." is when he tweets about Irna or how he writes or Bill Bell, etc. The rest of the time, to me at least, he is working the room.

I've been sporting this amazing picture her husband took of her. His tribute, so nice. It's lovely seeing someone so in love with someone so lovable.

I was right about the baby name! Guess Uncle Ron and I have a similar style

Could have done without Sarah’s nasty ass attitude though. That look she shot at Maggie after she asked if there was something else she wanted to tell Xander made me want to curse her out. In this case, I don’t think it’s the writing that’s the problem, I think it’s the portrayal.

The same can be said for RSW/Alex. He’s not a romantic lead, no matter what the show tries to force feed us.

I am intrigued by this mystery surrounding Victor, and also what it could mean for all these characters. Theresa adds another layer to this storyline that could be interesting to see. It also ties in Stephanie, who I was glad to see have scenes with her cousin today. Gimme a Chad/Stephanie/Alex/Theresa/Brady/Chloe/Xander/Sarah/Rex mess!

As for Maggie, I hope this all turns out to be a scheme and that she and Victor really were married.

Why did Dick Van Dyke need to turn out to be John's dad (having apparently swapped dogtags with Jigsaw)? It's not like he's going to keep recurring on the show for years to come. Just make him the long-lost Horton (Tommy?) and call it a day.

Victoria Margaret, very nice.

I don't see anything wrong with Sarah right now. And, of course, it is way soapy to have this secret paternity issue planted. If the show goes on & on, there can be plenty of opportunities for it to be winked at as well as even an ultimate opportunity for it to come out as a reveal. I'm almost always for that kind of soapiness in the writing.

Completely agree.

Also agree but it doesn't look like Maggie, Justin, Bonnie & anyone else being thrown out of the K Mansion will have any relief any time soon. On the plus side, we must be gonna have Louise Sorel for a while & that to me is a big plus.

I'm no fan of Jen Lilley's, but I have to admit that she kills it as Theresa. She's really great in that role, and I think we're in for a THUD when Emily O'Brien takes over shortly.

O'Brien is a good actor, but she's not only replacing someone who's crushing the role, but playing another role just episodes after leaving the part of Gwen.

Honestly the John/DVD dad story played out in an episode. DVD had a few episodes, but John found out DVD was in the same army unit as Jigsaw in the final scene of one episode and then the next episode we saw the entire reveal happened.  The fastest retcon of parentage ever.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
