Clearly the lack of writing talent also extends to a lack of intelligenceย

A new set? Looks like Chad and Stephanie were in Mexico and not Greece.

ย

And ugh!ย  The Marlene scenes in her office are muffed. Sound department is out to lunch. Damn!

The Marlena and Ben 2.0 scenes are pointless.

The Bo story is terrible. They brought back Peter and Kristian for this?

I will withhold judgment on the Alex/Marlena relationship until they have more than one episode together (although she is terrible with confidentiality which is considered the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship).

I like the Steve/Bo interactions and how they evoke memories of their friendship/rivalry.ย  It made me realize that since their initial time on the show, they've been like two ships passing in the night where one would return while the other was off-screen.ย  So, it is fun to watch them act together again.

The John/Brady scene represents my pet peeve about DAYS scripts.ย  Much like the Stephanie/Tripp scene last week, it involves two people talking about a crisis, but as soon as they are done, they begin talking about their romantic status.ย  It's like "my stepmom just returned from the dead (for the umpteenth time) and half of the town was just drugged by a biscuit, but what really bugs me is if I should kiss this girl that I knew in high school."ย  The tone is just weird.ย

I started watching but will finish it later. Too bad ED isn't playing Kristen opposite Megan. I just can't stand Stacy in the role. She gets on my nerves rather quickly with her awful acting.

Fully agree. Haiduk has some vocal fry that gets on my nerves every time. I really want the character gone if she's going to play her.

So apparently the sound people were fired when Days moved to Peacock?ย

I love Alex and Robert Scott Wilson. He can stay on the show forever. He's frickin hot. And he can act.ย

Someone tell Jamey that winning awards now means nothing or is he just acting dumb?

ย

Jamey is like Ron -- he gets annoyed with any negative criticism and barks back with something that is an eye-roller. All he's good for, as far as I can tell, is writing bad one-liners for Leo.

I'm good. I'm still a clown. As Jinkx Monsoon says, "Water off a duck's back." It's not even worthย the momentary cerebral effort. But, hey! Let'sย talk about DAYS! Oh my God.ย That rhymes. Genius!ย

Reading your sense of humor... it's like "looking" in a mirror. lol.ย

I haven't gotten to the Talia twist yet, but I like the actress. I like the actress who plays Jada too. The writers' efforts to let us get to know new characters are severely lacking, but these two have that certain spark and are capable actresses; certainly stronger than the hair model/Onlyfans performer playing Sloane.ย

What kind of overhaul? Seriously. Honest question. What exactly do you think Toups or I could do better when moderating the board? Neither of us can read every single post. When we receive reported posts (which are VERY rare), we handle them as quickly as possible and to the best of our abilities when judging the context of what was reported.

If you want us to become Twitter, Facebook or any other social media platform that polices posts by constantly warning members over some of the things they've posted, you'd be surprised who would be impacted by all that.

I've said it in the past, and I'll repeat it again, having to baby posters and tell them they are not being nice to each other isn't worth my time. I have so many things to do when it comes to this website that I should have a staff of 20, but no amount of revenue generated by this site can afford to pay a single person.

Additionally, people trashing the board means nothing to me. Why? Because if I gave a damn what people had to say about SON, I'd be a fool to keep it up and running. Seems I have thicker skin than most. People, including yourself (re-read your post), can say all they want about SON and the SON Community but continue posting because I don't believe in silencing opinions. Especially those I disagree with.

As for games, there isn't one being played. At least not by me and not by Toups. All we ever wanted for this place was a forum for people to discuss their love for soaps, past and present, openly. We want people to talk about their favorite storylines, favorite actors, worst plot devices, best and worst couples, worst soap, best soap, etc. We also welcome disagreements on said topics as debates are an ideal reason for a discussion forum.ย

Instead, one of the ONLY forums still in existence today that provides people of all ages and backgrounds the ability to discuss all things soaps (among other topics), and not just some random couple or other single-topic fandoms, is constantly being demoralized because people want to get rid of posters they don't agree with or don't like because of something they said. More importantly, people get up in their feelings and start attacking each other over nonsense. And people expect me to come in and break up a pathetic fight from said verbal attacks? I then have to decide who to ban. Who to warn? Why? Twitter and Facebook don't do that? Why should I have to?

Don't like what someone has to say? Ignore them. You can't do that? Not my problem.

To add:

My comments are not meant to hurt anyone or make them feel less than others. I'm stating my opinion openly, for the first time in 20 years since running this place, with absolutely no compensation from anyone who dares complain about how it's run.ย

When we introduce advertisements to pay for the server. Complaints. When we have over a dozen moderators, it creates drama among members vs. moderators and that leads to the creation of other forums (which won't be named here). There are complaints when we try to be hands-off and let people handle themselves like adults.

There are days I question whether to keep it up and running, and today is definitely one of them. Maybe I should let it all blow up and burn down. Won't bother me.

Ditto. As I just wrote in another thread, if it's not Eileen making a pop-up visit (since it seems we'll never get her again long-term), then don't bother anymore.ย

Jamey & Ron's writing is exactly what I'd expect: two older gay men who are out of touch with the younger generation, and so their puns, one-liners, and stereotypes are 20 years outdated. It's like they're two heterosexual males from 2003 writing a Queer As Folk fan fiction.ย  I just hope they're not still trying to squeeze into their old circuit gear.ย

A couple more lingering thoughts about today's episode.

I like John talking to Brady about Rachel because John has a better rapport with Rachel and can help modify her behavior.ย  But, I still wish John would reflect on his difficulties in raising Sami to help give Brady some perspective (alternatively it would nice to hear Brady reflect on what he learned from his difficulties accepting Marlena as a stepmother, I'm certain he wasn't her favorite after he threatened Belle with getting run over by a train or whatever he did back then).ย  For a writing staff that is so beholden to the past, this feels like a missed opportunity.ย  Just like it would be fun to explore how Brady's parenting style reflects some of the poor choices that he's made with women in his past (although it is admittedly bizarre to wish for character development on a soap that deals with age reversal serums and magic biscuits).

As for the Alex/Marlena scenes, I can't help but be a little excited at how Marlena's relationship with Alex will affect her relationship with Maggie, given the rumors of behind-the-scenes drama between the two actors.ย  It feels like DAYS is trying to recapture the dynamic that Marlena had with Will.ย  But, he is her grandson, not a client, so it can't really be duplicated.

I totally don't understand the gunshot/wine fake-out.ย  Are we meant to think that Bo shot his gun and threw wine at the same time, that seems difficult?ย  Or, in Greece does throwing wine sound the same as a gunshot?

I think that's the Peacock budget in action.

Xander/Chloe were muffled today. But Iโ€™m curious, are darts really that dangerous that they can send you to the hospital? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I guess it was good seeing Eileen Davidson, despite the atrocious disguise. But I agree with everyone here that Eileen should be the only one playing Kristen. Iโ€™m tired of Stacyโ€™s Kristen, which is probably the biggest reason why I want Megan to win.ย

And Iโ€™m sure we all know Harris is going to end up doing the right thing. He looked good today. And theyโ€™re dressing him really well.ย

Today's episode was one of the shortest.ย

Very few characters on.

The Tommy Banks stuff was so bad. I did have to laugh when the officer said he was uglier in person.๐Ÿ˜‚

Harris and Fake Bo scenes were zzzzzzzzzzzz.

The show should have had SH continue doing Susan (she wasn't bad) and Eileen play Kristen, if Ron and Ken are so determined to keep both actresses.ย
