The Epiphany tribute was great. I liked how they let the news trickle in instead of outright saying her cause of death, (until the funeral). Elizabeth as the lead was great. In some ways this was the 25th anniversary special episode she didn't get.

This gives me hope that the 60th Anniversary show will be well done.

Why Y&R is still #1, I have no clue. It's just been let down after let down on that show with the only good episodes being the actor anniversary specials. Their 50th was just was as underwhelming as DAYS'.

Fan campaigns? In 2023? This is crazy, most soap couples are out here holding onto the ghost of their popularity from 20-40 years ago and we have a brand new couple with fans who care enough to get an ad in Times Square. Crazy!

The slow movement of their story has the side effect of only galvanizing their fanbase. Plus you have two young charismatic actors who know how to use social media and engage with their audience. Plus GH despite low ratings still has more cultural cache than the other soaps left on the air.

It is a waste.  They’re spending their money on stupid stuff.  They’re spending it on a billboard for a (teen, young —whatever) couple on a soap opera.  I know these are grown women and some men who have bills to pay.  Aren’t these the same fools who got the plane, too?  Come on.

What is the point of doing such nonsense?  It’s not going to be on the news.  I’m watching David Muir right now.  He didn’t mention it.

    • Of course! It's a lot to compile, with every Tom, Dick, and Harry credited, but it's fun!

    • So far, Canada has been one day ahead for six episodes. @Toups @Errol  any official word on this? MVJ commented to a viewer on twitter:   from @iammskye1 I demand to be put in the same schedule with the Canadian #BeyondTheGates viewers. If that means dropping us two episodes in one day, one aired live and one on streaming, do what you gotta do, lol. They ain’t bout to be out here outdoing us.   Michele Val Jean @MicheleValJean June 2, 2025 I hate this too. It really screws with the way we construct reveals if one batch of viewers is ahead of the rest. Very frustrating. #BeyondThe Gates #BTG https://x.com/MicheleValJean/status/1929742526107603321   from @iammskye1  Thank you for acknowledging our pain.

Michele Val Jean @MicheleValJean June 2, 2025 And then there are spoilers and it really does spoil the reveal for those who haven’t seen it yet. sigh. #thanklessjob #BeyondTheGates #BTG https://x.com/MicheleValJean/status/1929744253829501104 -

    • I guess that's why I never could hate Drake Hogestyn or John Black so much that I wanted him off the show.  DH always came across (on screen and off) as the ultimate "team player," who never phoned it in or mistreated his colleagues or fans in any way.
    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.
