The good news: the show will be one man's vision.

The bad news: Josh Griffith is the man.

He thinks he's Bill Bell.

Yes.

Natalie Minardi Slater, Kay Alden's protege, is one of the fired writers. Josh was driven Y&R into the ground and I fear this is the final nail in its coffin.

Is Sara Bibel one of them? Msgd with Sara. She is looking for a job. She tweeted a great msg to the fans.

Griffith has tanked this show numerous times and is always invited back. This decision makes no damn sense and one man can’t be EP, HW, and sole BDW without the show suffering tremendously.

This will be way more disastrous than what happened under Mal Young.

It's cheap.

It's like those consultants that are brought in to sell off pieces of failing companies. If the cuts to the budget exceed the lost revenue from slipping ratings, it's a win.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but didn't he leave years ago because his mental health suffered when he was head writer?

Why would he risk his mental health again by letting go his breakdown writers?  Including Natalie...who Kay Alden had envisioned being the one to take the reigns of the show down the line?

Sadly, yes, it is cheap. It’s really puzzling that the #1 rated soap is so cash strapped that they’re eliminating an entire writing team function that even DAYS can afford.

It tells me that this show’s finances are being severely mismanaged and Josh does not know how to efficiently handle it.

The show is finally toast!

I'm getting Christopher Goutman vibes.

Just waiting news that Josh has fired all the directors and he will now direct ever episode.

Josh will also be the show's only extra. He'll be seen wiping the counters at Crimson lights, serving drinks at Society, taking reservations at the Grand Phoenix and will don a cop or surgeon's uniform as necessary (housecalls only).

When you think about how much Bill Bell put trust into the writers below him, which helped keep the show stable for as long as it was, this is even more saddening. I haven't watched Y&R in years but I always see comments here about how the show no longer even has plots and people just exist. They're at the point where they may as well just have shots of the rotting furniture.

Yikes! I just saw this on Twitter and rushed over.

This is not good for Y&R. The show is already drivel. Without breakdown writers, this show is going to be even more of a trash heap.

At this point, I say just put the show out of its misery.

Da Fück?

I’m totally disgusted. Obviously Griffith is having mental health issues again, this time as a loose cannon.

A total train wreck waiting to happen.
