I think she was only on one day this week, Thursday.

That's nice. Now kiss.

Joss and Dex have fücked three times this year alone. Carly and Drew just did it and NO ONE cares about them. Cody and Sasha just met and are guaranteed to kiss within a month's time. This is infuriating.

I can believe they'll kiss at February sweeps, I predicted that awhile ago. I can also believe they will then next kiss at May or November sweeps, lol. I think the show is petrified of showing them intimate out of fear of the racist portion of the audience and is trying to keep it as chaste as possible until Chavez leaves. I would love to be proven totally wrong.

This is speculation, but I was thinking that Spencer and Trina were gonna get married in order to get custody of the baby and that would be their first kiss.

Like, what?? That’s not how a story like this is supposed to play out

I have an opinion about this, but I think it might be my hatred of Joss that generated it

Again: It is idiotic that Spencer wants to adopt a baby or that he and Trina might get married over this mess, but the endless stream of instant nuclear family stories for most young adults and often even young LGBT characters (immediate pregnancy, babies and marriage - Kish, Wilson, Lucas/Brad and Mariah/Tessa all check some if not all of these boxes, as did Bianca on AMC before them) over the last decade-plus are clearly what the soaps or their networks feel comfortable greenlighting to what is perceived as a predominantly older conservative audience. Most young people on network soaps are not allowed to be young and fùck or do young people things - they must procreate, wed and settle down.

I mentioned that the other day! It will be utterly ridiculous if they get married. Just yesterday Ava said that Esme isn't old enough to drink! So they're all 20 years old and saddled with marriages and babies. Dumb.

It shouldn't have happened with Michael either, even though he's too boring to live at this point. Or Maxie, or Lulu when it did for them ten years ago. And we've already discussed the pulse-pounding excitement of Brook Lynn, Chase, etc.'s unmarried storylines.

So short-sighted. You have these kids are basically memory-holed, existing almost completely off screen. You never really see anyone parenting anymore, as soaps don’t do domesticity anymore. Meanwhile, IRL, fewer and fewer people are marrying or having kids under the age of 35-40 (hell, younger folks aren’t even having much sex these days compared to older Millennials/Gen Xers). So much pandering to a Silent Gen/older Baby Boomer audience.

I just really hate when a character breaks the heart or literally destroys the life of someone that they claim to care about and then just goes off living happily ever after like they did nothing wrong, while the person they hurt is left to pick up the pieces.

I hated it when Ben and Ciara did it to Theo and when Craig did it to Nancy on Days. But Joss puts them all to shame.

    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
