    Long story. The current iteration of the message boards was launched on September 11, 2005 (unfortunate date). The original birthday of the SON Community was October 8, 2001, as launched by @Toups and Alyssa  via ezBoard. The community became its own .com in November 2002. 

    We’ve honored the original launch date as SON’s birthday.

    Fun fact: While at least two websites were created by some of SON’s original users (won’t name them) after internal matters resulted in an unofficial split, SON itself was created from another message board with its own dramatic history (prior to my tenure and @Toups wasn’t part of the drama, to be clear). Ultimately, SON remains the largest and most active community following that situation.

    I joined the original SON (ezBoard) in April 2002. Became a moderator in August 2002 and admin in October 2002. I, along with Toups have run the community together since early 2003 (around March or so) following Alyssa’s departure. Never met her to be clear.

    I still remember a mod I outlasted just before or after the move, can't recall which. She (not Alyssa) was a hoot.

    She and I had a disagreement about something inappropriate she did. She decided to leave shortly after.

    There were some great mods in the past. Not sure who you’re referring to though. The most recent mods were @Scotty and @Angela

    Oddly it’s been able to have sex and go to war for three years now, yet only now it can drink and gamble too. Stupid American laws. Lol.

    Happy to have been here for a long time, and the board before.  I really appreciate how little drama there is here now compared to earlier days/versions of this community!  Not to say that we haven’t had a few dustups here in the last 20 years!
