Hahaha at the pic.

And while I've behind, I was happy to see that Trina did get cleared. It does feel like it has been forever, but I agree that that has allowed people to get used to the recast and even root for her.

Speaking of behind...pun unintended...

8-5

Where do I even begin?

I cannot begin to tell you how much I rewinded that slap Ava gave Esme. Thank you so much for the headsup. That was some Ava stuff for sure. Not so Ava...her being unnerved by the parapet fall. The Ava who shot Connie in cold blood would have been plotting from the word 'go' to be sure it was not traced back to her. And needed NO men to help her cover up. But I guess I could blame it on that happening right behind her finding out Nik slept with Esme, but still...

And it's nice to see Sasha's breakdown continue. Honestly I was bored with it...and her acting during the destruction of the man's car left much to be desired. But seeing how Sasha's breakdown is causing drama for Deception AND Brando (welcome back, Martin!) in the form of him having to do tough love on her Britney Spears style (too soon?) has been somewhat interesting.

Shut up, Joss!!! lol. Love how the Rory/Trina/Spencer triangle has developed by the reveal that Spencer finally told everyone he was Trina's alibi and he was working to expose Esme the whole time. Loving the shifting in the dynamic as he appears to lose his freedom...for now. And it's nice to see the Portia hating Nik coming back into play.

I am not going to like Alexis/Chase's Dad so stop it. lol.

And mmmmmm at Chase in the pool at the start of 8-5. Still enjoying him and Brooklyn, but this plot does need to move along. I feel like we have been having them circling each other for a while. Same with Trina and Spencer...but they at least have a shifting dynamic.

And don't get me started on Liz's storyline being hijacked by Finn.

All of this.

Alexis' best pairing in years was with Harmony until some old Biddy in Mazoola (?SP) tweeted #firefrank it was a sin or whatever made him switch lanes and turn Harmony into a murderer faster than Trump can eat a McDouble.  Crash boom see ya murderer.

I feel the same. And while I am sure Harmony and Alexis had some forced scenes (definitely some forced dialogue), these scenes Alexis has with the dad just come across sooooo forced they are like nails on a chalkboard when they are on screen together. I think they have only had one that came across as organic for me.

Her heart's not in it--she's too interested in writing her memoir. They could put Brad Pitt on that park bench in a pair of torn boxers and she'd feel the same way. Gregory Harrison should be playing Jeff with a wife in tow.  They should have just given her a couple of months off.

It is obscene that the Trina frame-up nonsense has been going since March lol.

It is clear the writing is there for Spencer and Trina, but I don't trust Frank Valentini when it comes to non-white characters, ever. He still operates from a mindset of 'don't upset the white grandmas' from 2010. I feel like they've strung this out for as long as humanly possible as he struggles to find any way to put the Black girl with someone else and find another white chick for Spencer. I hope I'm wrong. Either way, TA remains gold as she's been since her first day.

OK, I know Cody hasn't been confirmed to be Scott's son, but if he is, that would be the fourth kid that Scott found out about as an adult; which seems like some sort of Stefano-level achievement.

Besides Serena, he's met Karen, Franco, and Logan (all RIP), which seems odd because Scott isn't that much of a mess that four different women would never reveal to him that they were pregnant.

Come to think of it, maybe Serena should stay out of town, things don't tend to end well for Scotty's kids.

I think that today's show was solid overall. I was glad to see Spencer finally admit that he's in love with Trina to Cam and Joss. I thought it was romantic and soapy how he decided to keep it to himself because he believes Trina would be happier with Rory. Speaking of Rory/Trina, I enjoyed their scenes as well. He does make Trina happy and I'm fine with them being together for the time being, though I'm also looking forward to when she finally finds out about Spencer's feelings. I always figured he would become her boyfriend first and I don't have a problem with it.

I see her getting closer to him/settled in a relationship and then Spencer finally telling her how he feels which will create more soapy/angst for this triangle. I do hope that Spencer manages not to go Pentonville for the whole three months, or if he does if he can get some visits from Trina. Maybe she will visit him once the truth about her paternity comes out and will confide in him then. That could bring them closer together/help them repair their friendship and create angst for her and Rory/this triangle.

I do wonder about Dex and his past. I wonder how much he is really lying about. I am liking the actor/character so far.

Also, I am enjoying TJ/Willow together. It's nice to see them bonding while he's helping her cope with her diagnosis. I like their chemistry together.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
