I know, I know, lol.  I should just be like Ron Carlivati and write silly stuff about gay men hitting on cute, straight guys while engaging in KNOTS LANDING cosplay.

That's what happens when you have HW's and EP's who can't think past the noses on their faces.

I’m getting caught up, I’m about 5 episodes behind.

I will never enjoy when they have Phyllis of all characters act morally superior to others. I never saw Susan or Alex’s Diane storylines, but I did see Maura’s poor run. Why are they acting like Diane is a crazed serial killer or something? When Maura played her I just remember all of the other characters treating her like trash and Maura being way too young.

Despite having no history with Susan’s Diane I’m greatly enjoying having her around. The flashbacks are wonderful and it’s nice to see an age appropriate actress back in the role. The Abbott Storyline is so much better than the Newman’s.

I really don’t like that they retconned Ashland into faking this whole time. We’ve literally seen Ashland in scenes with no one around, struggling to breathe and other things. Now to tell us what less than a year later that none of that happened is stupid.

Maybe it was out of vengeance for Victor making him sign documents while in the middle of a heart attack last year? That would make sense although the show hasn’t explained why.

Again today the Abbott story is far far superior that anything Newman related. Walters is doing wonderful and for a change both PB and MS actually finally acting once again instead of sleepwalking through the dreck. Although I agree Phyllis trying to be the voice of reason is ridiculous.

My main problem with this whole thing.

Although I will say that I just rewatched last night an old confrontation between Phyllis and Diane and already back then Phyllis had the gall to say "Nothing I ever did ever went as far as you did, Diane".
Coming from someone who tried to kill two people that was already a wild exageration back then.

But yeah they are setting up to write Diane like Sheila along the way and I don't like it. But I'll enjoy the ride. Diane being treated like a pariah by everyone is in character.

At least it’ll take the heat off of Sally. I do wonder how Diane will interact with new characters. They’ve already put Allie in her corner. A team-up with Ashland would seem like a no-brainer eventually, but this show loves to leave obvious dramatic possibilities on the table.

This. Diane marrying Ashland after being kicked to the curb by the Newmans could b a great kick in the ass for the show.  I could see the two scheming and Diane using Ashland to get to see Harrison. Diane sets her sights on his money for power to place herself in a position to face off with her enemies... Nikki, Victor, the Abbotts, Phyllis.  There's at least three years of potential story, :-). Of course, it wouldn't occur to Josh Griffith.

    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
