There were multiple pics of Justin and Adrienne, so I wouldn't mind pics of Sonny/Will, Bo/Hope, Shawn/Belle, and Isabella, Claire, Ciara etc. in lieu of the odd pics they had showcased.   I agree Chandler Massey/Zach Tinker should be there but I wonder what the cost would be to have the past actors in photo shots.  I don't hate John being there since they have a huge array of pics, but they are missing some fairly obvious ones.

That's a good question. Anyone know the cost of using an image of an actor not on the show?

I remembered that pic but I agree it doesn't look like couple/married a picture.

I'm pretty sure that for flashbacks an actor gets a full episode payment, hence why we often only see a flashback if those actors are also in that episode, so will be paid anyway.

If it's an actor no longer on the show, either in flashback or photo I'm not sure how that works.

And if say Tom and Alice are shown, is there a payment involved and who would be the recipient?

Ben and Ciara go on the run... to the cabin. Genius! LOL. Yes, I actually watched Ben and Ciara's scenes today because of MarDevil!

I truly don't understand why they brought JKJ back just to do this to Philip. Seriously, what the heck? Also, please stop showing that flashback of him making constipated faces after tearing the tree down.

"Tamara never meant to deceive you." LOL she lied about Lani's paternity AND maternity! Whoopsie! Does James Reynolds actually need the cane now or is this just supposed to be Abe recovering still? Not that it matters but I just noticed Abe using it again today.

I liked the John/Paulina scenes. "I should've done more research before I moved to Salem" LOL

They remembered that Tate (aka Tater Tot apparently) exists today.

I thought it was good to see Gabriel, the Angel again. That was a nice nod to history. Whatever happened to him when Marlena was possessed the first time? From what I remember, it seems he disappeared before the possession really took off.

Philip is annoying and I hate his friggin tree. If I was walking there with my dog, I'd have him pee on it every time

This Brady/Chloe/Philip loop needs to end. As much as I like Brady/Chloe together, all three of them need to be divided up and put into other people's orbits.

It was good back then, but now, it's like enough is enough.

I always think back to 2008, when Shawn and Belle left and Philip was broken out of that endless loop. It worked great. There was that brief Philip/Chloe/Lucas triangle, but the character of Philip was practically rejuvenated.

Idk what the hell they could do for him now though, but they could have Brady and Chloe mix it up with other characters.

If they have to get paid for it, I would assume that whoever manages their estates receive the payment and then it would probably be divided among their beneficiaries

Susan in the hospital is the most likeable the character has ever been. Loved those scenes with EJ. And glad we got some movement with Susan telling Xander that it was Kristen that told him about Sarah.

Glad they remembered the Lani/Kristen friendship. Kristen is at her best with Lani.

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
