I am on board for thinking RSW and VK have chemistry. Do I think they should have paired Ciara with a serial killer? No. But if they were going to do that they should have gone old school slow burn romance and kept them apart for years. After the initial cabin story (which if I blocked out him being a serial killer I did enjoy) they moved into this extremely lame sub plot where Ben moves in with Ciara, Tripp and Claire that did not work at all and then it was psycho after psycho. Keeping them apart because Ben is insecure and Ciara was uncomfortable with loving a serial killer at least would have built them time to adjust versus being thrown in.

Exactly!

That’s the way it needed to be done. Have Ben and Ciara keep themselves apart rather than half of Salem do it. (I’m still Team Eve btw)

That way you have fans actually longing for them to be together

Poor Sami just as the story was hitting its stride.

Jake & Gabby are just as grating as Ben & Ciara are

I wish Kate and the DiMeras had Theo’s back on this. Has Theo met NuEJ?

Tripp and NuChanel have decent chemistry actually, more than Tripp/Allie or Allie/Chanel IMO. Raven Bowens feels like a more solid actress but doesn’t have Precious Way’s charisma.

Why is Lani so mad at Paulina?  Did I miss something?  That's an honest question.  Lani is boring so I may have tuned out on something.  But isn't all Paulina guilty of is lying about the Pricetown plans that she cancelled?  Lani forgave Kristen for murders, attempted murders, kidnappings, etc and was her bff but Paulina's actions are too much for her?  It honestly seems like Paulina is just trying to be helpful even if it is throwing money around.

Well, at least it looks like the Cin stuff in concluding.  They weren't that annoying today.

True, this does seem out of character of Lani after everything she did for Kristen.

What would be smart is to have Eli forgive Paulina, but not Lani which could provide some good conflict for them

I noticed that too.

Honestly, this storyline has the potential to be really good. I hope they play every beat of it.

Thanks. I actually thought I might have missed something.  Lani has forgiven people for way more crap than this seemingly minor Paulina thing.  Obviously they are setting this up for Lani to actually be Paulina's daughter making Abe not her father.  At least that's what it looks like to me.   Did they do a DNA for Abe/Lani?  Not like that matters on Days....but still.

Fair.  They are annoying, but I felt they were less smug than usual so that's a win.   The memory thing was anti-climatic.  Ciara should have left and Ben could have cried his single tear and give up on life and then she runs back in and says she remembers everything...and END, but it's Ron.  The Chinese food thing is obnoxious, but I have been know to eat Chinese food for breakfast on occasion so I felt that.  It just looks like this arc is ending soon, so I am grateful.

Amen to that! Although I actually did like all those scenes of Ciara snarking at Ben for being a serial killer who disgusts her.

    • I thought Daniel Goddard did a great job in those scenes with Joss. He might be the rare villain this show got rid of too soon, because it feels like he had great potential as a character we'd love to hate.
    • @titan1978 About 80% of what you said is untrue. But believe what you want.

At some point, Victor, you must blame yourself that both Caroline and Fiona didn't want him to know they bore his sons.  But, looking back, I thought Bo would be richer as Victor's firstborn son than he turned out to be.

    • How did you guess that! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Anita was serving "solo artist" realness the whole time. Stole the show.

    • Bye bye Dalton. Unfortunately this is going to fall on Sonny though, when for once he didn’t kill anyone.

"Grief, mental illness... and a handjob." Let's get done with the hardcore drama first... before we continue with the lighter stuff. Bo's condition worsened after the hot psychiatrist gave the risky idea to SHOW him Sarah's body. Dr. Jonas is triggering these people into catastrophes every day. It's almost like he gets pleasure out of this. Well... they did show him Sarah and the result was BAD. Bo went into a crazy meltdown, locked himself with the corpse... and started putting blankets on her to warm her up. Disturbing scene... yet powerful work from Robert S. Woods. Bo's resolve came at the end of December 7th's episode when he let Viki come inside and talk to him. I've chosen this as the clip of the day - anyone who ever underestimates or puts down soap actors, just because they are working in a soap... should see this. And then we'll talk. Very powerful.  Viki did what she does best - performed a miracle almost, getting Bo to open up and let the family in. And after that... everyone was looking at her like she is God. The children... Clint himself... everyone standing by the door expecting "savior Viki" to continue being the mother figure they desperately need. But Viki is also a woman. Woman, whose heart is no longer in that house with Clint... She wants to be with Sloan so bad... she has started looking at her husband in a different, colder way. He even came to her bedroom in his robe, probably expecting Viki to invite him in... but he got a chilly response.  Alongside Bo's terrifying breakdown... there were some grim events unfolding at Asa's house as well. Dorian and Blair's fighting made Addie become aggressive towards Asa of all people. She attempted to stab him with a pair of scissors. Asa then finally said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!". It's either the baby or your sick mother. She must make a choice. What he doesn't realize... is that there is no baby. When he decided to contact Blair's doctor to inquire about her pregnancy... she knew she had to act FAST - likely fake a miscarriage. Jesus Christ, Blair!  This leads me to the storyline that consistently disappoints and undermines the overall mood of the show. Just picture having these intense storylines - involving... family, breakups, betrayal, grief, mental illness, and manipulation... and then suddenly, you see Alex giving Mortimer a handjob in the Buchanan Palace restaurant amidst all these other powerful scenes. Some might argue that this is precisely why such moments are there - to dilute the drama and darkness... but the result is far from enjoyable. It turns the entire show into a circus. You can't expect me to be emotional in one scene and then witness Alex reaching into Mortimer's pants... without cringing. It's a bit too abrupt... too early. It ruins everything and makes me despise... despise the characters involved. It's pathetic.    Overall -  6.5/10 - it would be a perfect 10 if you removed Alex and Mortimer. But I can't do that and I've decided it's enough giving them (the writers) slack about this. It's annoying, not funny and needs to end. If this was Bold... I would have been tearing them to pieces... but just because they've given me so much good material... I've forgiven idiocy time and time again. I have nothing against handjobs (quite the contrary actually), but I can't see them in the midst of a man crying over a corpse and a mentally ill woman attacking someone with scissors.    Clip of the day Viki consoles grieving Bo.
