According to Soap Opera Digest, Cady McClain will be headed off screen as Jennifer leaves Salem and heads to Boston. Her final airdate will be Feb. 17.

That's a shame. Of course Jennifer is ushered off-screen after her mother dies. Sigh.

Oh man...I really enjoyed her!

Why?!?  Despite her “beliefs,” I will always prefer Missy Reeves as Jennifer but Cady was doing an absolutely fine job.  Jennifer is SO needed right now!  Is this because the show can’t afford her or something???

What a shame. She has been fantastic as Jennifer and I wanted her to stick around long-term.

So RC is using Laura's death to usher Jennifer out the same way he used Bill's to get rid of JJ?

What an idiotic move!!  Hopefully this is a temp move. Cady McClain made the role of Jennifer her own in no time flat, plus it makes no sense to write off Jennifer 

Such a shame - Cady was wonderful as Jennifer and breathed new life into the character. 

So now I'm wondering if killing off Laura was a hasty rewrite due to behind-the-scenes issues. Maybe Cady's short-term contract was finishing up, and she didn't want to renew, so they had to come up with some reason why Jennifer would leave Jack, despite their recent reconciliation.

 

Regardless, it's a big loss, one that leaves a hole in the show. Are Doug and Julie going to be the only ones living in the Horton house now? 

Has Missy Reeves even decided yet if she wants to return to work?. If not will we get another temp Jennifer? The character is needed at DOOL

It's like he's literally just dusting off his ideas from a year ago and changing the names. He's ReRon for a reason!

I agree. Missy exuded a bubbly warmth that Cady didn't have, but I absolutely enjoyed Cady in the role. I hope Missy never comes back, retire Missy and enjoy your family.

 

I'm assuming they recast to play out the Gwen reveal and now they have to pay for Sweeney, so ...

Wasn't CM always meant to be short-term on DAYS, anyway? Did MR say one way or another that she was leaving for good? Sorry, I haven't been following all of this.
