I get the reason too but I do think the show is missing a MAJOR element in the story without Laura or even a temp recast. In fact, Laura should be the main "antagonist" to Cyrus' plans.

 

You're right about Zoom. I don't understand why Laura can't Zoom or video chat Cyrus at least. It's not the same but it would do.

True, but Liz has really been dumbed down these past few years in order to make Franco look good. I could see current Liz going along with this. What would redeem this storyline is to have Liz start to feel guilty about doing this and in the end reveals everything to Nikolas, which in turn pushes her away from Franco and closer to Nik.

GH to be preempted on Tuesday for MLB playoffs.

GH to be preempted Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Friday.
(Sept 29th, Sept 30th, Oct 1st, Oct 2nd).

for wildcard game process of the MLB (Major League Baseball) playoffs.

According to soaps.com,
MLB will air *instead of* GH on those dates -- in most markets.

But in some markets, GH airs at a different time,

so there won't be a conflict.

In those markets, GH will air repeats on Tues, Wed. Thurs.

Tue. Sept. 29th:  Repeat of Tues. Feb. 3, 2015.
Wed. Sept. 30th:  Repeat of Wed. Feb. 4, 2015.
Thurs. Oct. 1st:  Repeat of Thurs. Feb. 5, 2015.

EDIT with update:  According to Diagnosis Daytime, the repeat episodes planned for Tues/Wed/Thurs have been scrapped.
 

 

NOTE:  Regarding Friday, Oct. 2nd:
Originally, soaps.com announced that they weren't sure if MLB wildcard game would air Friday or not.
Several soap sites showed a new GH epi for Fri. Oct. 2nd.
However, The ESPN press room link above now shows MLB for Fri. Oct 2nd.

Also, the cable guides now show MLB for Fri. Oct. 2nd.

(No GH repeat has been announced yet for Friday).

However, other sites are still saying that the need for
a Friday MLB wildcard game broadcast on ABC

is dependent on how the other wildcard games go during the week.

I just saw a tweet about a potential paring for Valentine and Alexis.  While I know that they aren't blood relatives, didn't Alexis's half sister Kristina share a mother with Valentine?  My vague recollection was the Helena slit the throat of Kristina's mother who had been a singer, and I thought she was also the mother of Valentine.  If not, who is Valentine's mother?  I get that part Cassadine family tree confused all the time.

Helena is Valentin's mother. Valentin is technically not a Cassadine anymore. Kristina and Alexis were full siblings

That's odd twist, obviously I have not been paying attention.  Does that mean that Helena had a daughter (Cassandra) and a son that she didn't know about, but was still obsessed with Stavros?

But I think it was written as Helena trying to get back at Mikkos for everything he did (which is stupid, I know). By passing off her own illegitimate child as Mikkos' illegitimate child and heir to the Cassadine fortune, she was going to get revenge or something. 

 

I did feel that that rewrite was a little unnecessary
