I'm usually totally in line with B&B's campiness, but this episode should have never aired in the first place, let alone earn a repeat slot during a "classic marathon".

I just saw #710 again - from Amy Silence's uploads - and the Spectra scene with Sally, Darla and Saul were GREAT comedy. The line delivery, scene stealing and fun context. Those were the days: Darlene Conley and Schae Harrison were particularly amazing

Whoa, SF was amazing in that scene. 12 years of rage brought to the surface.

That's what I'm looking forward to as well, a week of Queen Stephanie (preferably her best bitch slaps from 1987-1999) and a week of Sally.

With a week of Stephanie, it would be interesting to see the contrasts again in how she was written, Bill Bell's Jennifer/Katherine/Vanessa hybrid and Bradley Bell's female Victor.

Hadn’t seen it talked about yet, but Brown was so gorgeous as a tortured Sheila holding the Forresters hostage in today’s 1995 episode that aired. Unlike Y&R last week so nice to see something from Sheila’s glory days not to mention it was a change for direction for Sheila away from the Forresters.

Interesting to see Sally and Gladys mingle for the first time apparently.

What Maggie/Dylan/Jessica and Michael didn’t set the show on fire that summer? Just kidding!! I recall being interested in Ivana’s murder mystery but then we had that unfortunate scene of Anthony shooting Sally on her way to canasta night. Now Lisa from Saved by the Bell’s elevator plunge was kind of funny though.

I REALLY liked the Ivana murder and had a soft spot for Maggie/Dylan. But in all fairness: the Jessica character was even dated in 1995... she was Y&R's Cricket in 1983 all over again. And the show had lots of interesting characters and overall good storytelling, but no real highlights after the classic Sheila showdown that CBS reaired this week. At least that's how I recall it 20+ years later.

B&B started to tank around summer 1995. Then in the fall Sheila returned and Lauren moved over from Y&R to B&B, but by 1996 they weren't in each other's orbit as much.

Just watched the Stephanie/Brooke confrontation episode. You could really feel 12 years of Stephanie's pent up rage being unleashed. No wonder Susan Flannery won the Lead Actress Emmy in 2000.

Hard to believe this was Bradley Bell's work and not Bill Bell's. Bradley also took elements of his father's work. Rick/Amber/Kimberly was Bradley's version of Phillip/Nina/Cricket.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
