Soaps In The Time of Crisis

I really hope with DAYS already having so much in the can they continue to air. They really are the only soap than can air for months now without interruption due to the filming schedule that we all hate.

AMC did, but I can't remember the details. It was something like Erica telling her children that the world still belongs to them and they shouldn't be afraid of it. I'm really fuzzy since I only saw it when it originally aired.

The confusing thing is that they’ve already announced that The Price Is Right is taking a break and they film in the same building. Why keep the soaps but not that?

If there’s no preemptions I would assume they would go up at least a bit.

TPIR has a live studio audience. For filming soaps, the only time people get really close is in love scenes and while the actors get their makeup done. It's far more managable to prevent transmission of the virus.

You can't even have two people sitting next to each other in the control room. You can't have more than one person in the elevator. Microphones can't be used for more than one person. It's just not feasible. Every soap will need to shut down.

Okay now all soaps are officially shut down. GH is saying they're far ahead and should be fine, DAYS of course has filmed 15 years in advance. I wonder how long the Bell soaps will last.

Since it looks like the virus will hit a peak in May, they might not be able to resume filming until June/July at the earliest. DAYS of course will be fine and might even benefit from getting a few months closer to filming. Is GH really filmed that far ahead though?

If so, the odds are that they'll run into trouble. No way they can resume filming before May, or even June. Everything with any sort of large gatherings have been cancelled in my calendar until at least May 31st.
