There still hasn't been an official statement from CBS or Carrie Ann either way (though the longer she's out, the less likely her coming back is). Personally,I think CBS should do a complete rehaul of the format and set...and change the show's title. Once they decided to add a man full-time, it was no longer The Talk as it always was.

Just announced: she’s leaving. Lame that it was announced on a Friday night like a political scandal, but CAI probably just wants to put this show behind her.

JMHO a co-ed panel is a smart move when there are so many View clones on daytime TV (and Kelly and Ryan is a great example of a female-male duo being successful—I think people like having the interplay of both genders represented and there are so many conversations on these shows where the absence of a male perspective is strongly felt). I just don’t have much faith in this particular show and these particular people.

That was probably the most anticlimactic, non-surprising announcement ever. Did anyone not see this coming?

It's a shame, really, because she did bring a lot of sunshine in those first couple of years. Through her, I learned more about autoimmune diseases. I both cried for her and cheered for her as she shared her story of overcoming sexual abuse. She and Sheryl seemed to have a real bond (and I'm sorry that things seemed to turn sour between them). Anyway, I wish Carrie Ann well as she turns the page on this show.

As far as co-ed panels go, I like Daily Blast Live a lot. Their set looks more like a newsroom, and they have many enlightening discussions on current events. As far as The Talk goes, they have replaced hosts every year since 2017. In just the past 12 months, they've had to make four host changes (Marie, Eve, Sharon and now Carrie Ann. This show is gutted.

Wow, and they really focused a lot of attention on Elaine (whom I increasingly found an iffy fit for this particular format). The new Project Runway season is coming soon.

CBS is a shitshow with a few exceptions (like The Equalizer).

I've known about Elaine before she became nationally relevant and I felt like that EIC job at Teen Vogue was a sinking ship that she kept it  afloat iand then some. She successfully transition Teen Vogue when cease print publication due to declining sales to a high traffic social media machine.

Akbar Gbajabiamila, who co-hosts American Ninja Warrior, has been named a new co-host of The Talk. I actually like Akbar a lot, but not enough to tune in:

I just hope Sheryl can keep her cool:

    • Tessa clarified a few years ago that she is gay and not bi.   I find it offensive that the show is teasing her with Daniel. Mariah told Sharon she went emotionally/mentally to a dark place, and while she was out of town on business she got drunk and did something bad.  But Mariah didn't say she cheated.  The show wants us to assume that, but she didn't say that.  She could have taken drugs or who knows what.  All we know is that she feels shame and doesn't want Tessa to know.  Mariah says the inner darkness is due to the longterm influence of Ian in the past, and she hasn't healed from that. With a *good* writer, we could have organic conflict in the Teriah marriage, without cheating.  But JG isn't a good writer.
    • Was that before his accident? I think it was. Most of us have never seen him before it happened.
    • I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.
    • -- The fact that we know the mess that Billy made when he renovated the Chancellor place makes his entire sadsack attitude pathetic. I wanted someone to smack the hell out of him. -- And why did Diane care so much about Billy's opinion beyond hearing he liked it better before? Why continue pressing him on it? Josh Griffith clearly thinks this is a storyline, and it isn't. It never was. -- So Mariah cheated on Tessa offscreen. OF COURSE it was offscreen. Then we got this ridiculous, convoluted explanation of why she cheated, ending in her announcement that she doesn't have any character at all. GMAFB.  -- Now we'll get the cliche garbage of Mariah confessing to Tessa, who turns to Daniel for sex even though she's a lesbian. (Please spare me the comment that Tessa is bi.) -- The excuse for Summer leaving town? Also pathetic. Why in the hell would she have to leave town to find a new creative director for Marchetti?
    • I vaguely recall it surfaced on either TNT or TBS around 1993 or so but I could be wrong about the channel. By 1997 when this article was written Knots was still airing on TNT, Dallas was on the old TNN network (which today is Paramount), and Dynasty was on…well I don’t even recall now but feel like it was either E!  or Bravo. TNN ran Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas together in the evenings for years surprised they didn’t just pick up FC to resurrect the trifecta.
    • I think you're thinking of the dress she wore on April 15 from her Ebony cover shoot when Andre had to put her in bed.
    • @Maximthank you for such a thoughtful reply. I have printed it out so I have it with me as I watch most of the soap clips on the YT app on my TV. I've always wanted to get into Edge of Night, but I didn't no where to start.
    • Laugh-In was also before my time, but I loved watching her when Nick at Nite and TV Land ran repeats. She was also on Sesame Street for years. So vibrant. One of those people I've never heard bad word of. Sorry to hear that.
