Yeah I believe they are signed when  the actors go into the final screen test. Then after they decide who gets the rolle, the other actors deals are voided

 

I heard this before when OLTL was casting Dr Greg Evans in 2009. Real Andrews said he signed a test deal but OLTL ended up going with Terrell Tilford
