If Chelsea is leaving to be with Adam, wouldn’t he be upset that she left one of his kids behind?

A couple of other boards I visit are VERY anti-Hilary, so they were eating up all the abuse she was taking. But I wanted her to just get sick of it and lash out at someone.

The show told viewers every chance they got and in every way they could that Hilary was bad, evil, and underserving of anything good. Then they pitted her against Mariah whom they told us was good, amazing, and deserves every happiness in the world. Is it any wonder why those fans despise Hilary? They are only following what the show told them was the rightful order of things: hate hilary and cheer on her downfall and hope nothing good ever happens for her and to her.

Someone on another board noted that GT and MCE have such great rival chemistry that it’s a shame they wasted GT for so long on Amelia Heinle, with whom she has no rapport at all. I agree. The scenes with Gina and Melissa are electric.

They wasted Chelsea/MCE for years as some weepy heroine too. She was much more entertaining driving story.

Oh totally. Oftentimes viewers are able to see through that kind of blatant manipulation with the writing (like the backlash against all of the Cricket propping in the ‘90s), but they fall for it with Hilary hook, line, and sinker.

Exactly.  All of this.  For years, I cared nothing about goodie two shoes Chelsea.  The last few weeks she's been infinitely more watchable even though the story came out of left field.

It's because they want to fall for it. The show didn't need to be so heavy handed in that little rivalry but I guess they didn't realize that. The majority of the audience would have rooted for Mariah without it.

The audience sure didn't fall for it with Chelsea and Phyllis. Phyllis got more hate than chelsea did although she was in the right while Chelsea was stealing, lying, manipulating, and bashing Sharon across the head. Yet, Phyllis is wrong. Lol

Very left field. Didn't make sense either. Nothing Chelsea did was big enough reason to leave town except maybe bashing Sharon.

Part of the issue with Phyllis/Chelsea is that her protectiveness of Nick also came out of left field. Nick and Phyllis have barely shared scenes in ages despite their history, and suddenly she’s his savior.

It’s just a clunky way of setting up Phick vs Shick because GT has been floundering with Billy, and there’s no way they are letting Josh Morrow go without a love interest.

I don't even think they are doing Phick vs Shick. I think Mal Young wanted Phyllis to have something to do so he gave her a role in story that didn't make sense. Happy Philly kinda stifles her story potential. But then, you could be right, they may use Phyllis as angst for this upcoming Shick reunion.

Well Adam did have the DNA test changed to say Nick was the father, so I don't think Adam really wanted a kid w/ Sage.

When Christian starts having vision problems that's when Nick will figure out Christian is Adam's child. Remember that's how it was revealed that Connor was Adam's and not Dylan's.

I just think Billy’s increasing discomfort at Phyllis’s interest in Nick and

rumors of Summer’s return

are clues they are going there. And Billy’s always a fallback for Victoria once she learns what JT is up to.

there was spec that summer would have a thing for Billy based on the scripts and audition tapes we saw for Summer recast. Summer in a "sexy nightgown" coming down stairs to complain to shirtless Billy about Phyllis.

I can't imagine all that being anything other than angst for Philly considering Mal Young's love for the couple. But you could be right.

Billy, as played by Jason Thompson, would be skeevy with anyone.

Just watched a Season 1 episode of Barnaby Jones from 1973. Eric Braeden guest starred as the villian and uttered the immortal line...

'You got that?'

As much as Hilary is placed in an unflattering Light compared to Mariah, they sure as hell play Mishael a lot more than Camryn. Not many characters on this show get extended dream sequences with multiple day players and sets.
