There is no story. That is the problem. Lani should've said this is not your baby. You broke up with me and I've been with someone else and it's his. But no we have Lani lying to JJ for no reason and we are just waiting for dumb Eli to figure out he is the father and for Gabi to find out. And Eli and Gabi barely became a couple if at all so I have nothing invested in them. And I think Lani is better off without Eli in her life.

why do i think John is going to be another doppelganger? I hope this isn't the case, especially if they are switching Andre for Tony. Enough already.

This Lani's pregnancy story is taking up WAY TOO MUCH airtime. I really couldn't care less about any of those involved.

I no longer like Sonny. I admit I never really watch much at all the first time Sonny and Will are together but the way he's being written now is horrible. Instead of having sympathy for the fact that the man he supposedly loves having no memory and being "lost", the story is all about Sonny and what Sonny wants. Doesn't seem like he cares about Will at all. Lame.

Even though this Andre murder isn't well-crafted it seems like this should be the story that's driving the show right now. But we have just little bits here and there about it. Again, pacing people! Pacing!

Lani and Eli are dull as dirt. JJ ceased being interesting the moment he joined the police force. Hopefully, his new career choice will light a fire under the character (and the actor). I like Gabi more than most others here, but not enough to care one whit about this story.

IMO, their relationship has always been about what Sonny wants even from the beginning that's why they had problems from the start.

Agreed on both and I do mess JJ edgy side. He doesn't have to be totally bad but....

Sonny is simply insufferable.  Sonny has become a shady witch with an unflattering hairstyle . On a stale lifeless soap like Days Will & Paulie are a breath of fresh air.  Handled right they could be a fun couple to watch. Yet  i know RC can't accomplish that feat. That dullard Lani just sucks the life out of JJ. JJ deserve better than being stuck in this generic uninspired ''Who the Daddy''? mess. The show lacks any creative sparks. I don't care who killed Andre. I don't care why John is poisoning because the writing is so lacking. I do like Will & Paulie teaming up to discover why. The show is a  badly produced and written mess. Each year it loses more of itself.

That all depends if Ron decides that Will and Paul are the couple and not Sonny and Will. All I keep hearing is that Paul is just a temporary diversion in the reunion of Will and Sonny. That's unfortunate..

The stories are very bland and lacking so much punch in the writing.

I'd love to see them commit to Will and Paul. But sadly I feel like they won't. I'd hate to see Paul tossed aside for Will and Sonny, who's time, IMO, is up. They don't have the same chemistry. Chandler and Christopher seem to be friends outside of work and it shows on-screen.

I'm waiting for the inevitable day Paul turns psycho.

I wouldn't wanted Paulie going bonkers. Even though Christopher would play it brilliantly. Now Sonny going bonkers over losing her golden twink might be a blast. I do have a feeling somewhere down the line Days is going to throw CS/Paul under the bus. Which would be a real shame since his a real asset to Days.

I haven't seen today's episode. I am 2 days behind but FS can't pull it off. He is awful in scenes with Brady. He is laughable when his Kiriakis claws come off.

He is horrible.

I think the ONLY thing that could make this show interesting even slightly to me would be making Sonny an all out manipulative bitch. Pulling lies, and schemes to break up Will and Paul. It's definitely something new for this boring show. We also need some gay side characters for the guys to interact with. That's a large issue I have with gays on soaps. They isolate then to a redundant constant triangle. It's really boring.

Now here they are adorable but Sonny hasn't been that way since then.

If they were to do that then Days would have to recast Sonny. Cause Freddie Smith....sorry he can't pull it off.

    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. I will freely admit some of the other chances she took at other shows often came off stiff, hammy or downright mortifying (Kelly Andrews, come on down). (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
