They just gave away six weeks worth of major plot points in 2 minutes. What a stupid move.  They could have made the commercial shorter and left out some details.  The goal is to get old viewers to tune in. Not give them a synopsis so they don't have to tune in.  LOL. What's wrong with these media people.

lmao, more like 3-4 months. I wish DAYS moved that quickly. Damn.

Will's a top, tho. That's the only way the Paul/Sonny/Will triangle makes sense... Sonny was a top that became a bottom for Will, and Paul's a bottom, etc.

this conversation is absurd, tho.

I imagine most of that stuff in the promo happens in the next few weeks. Vivian likely returns on New Years Eve.

And the whole point of the promo is to do what it did, garner interest. Yeah they spilled a lot but the Day of Days promo often does. I wish it were done a bit better but oh well.

I mean, the weekly promo gives everything away too. The last promo gave away Paul telling Sonny that Will was alive and it spoiled Sonny seeing Will in the dive bar. I mean, why bother watching the show?

If the story is riveting then people will tune in no matter what but Will's story hasn't come close to being that. Seeing Will put up bottles and cleaning the bar while a boring drunken Lucas and a dufus Paul see him and say nothing isn't must see tv. Finding Will should have been something big instead it has been a dud.

Soaps can still churn out some good moments, episodes, etc. but the days of really riveting drama is dead it seems.

Episode guarantees being so low hurts DAYS very much. There's no ability to truly string a solid story together IMO.

Meanwhile you have actors on GH garnering 15-18 episodes a month.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
