GH: Actress leaving

Featured Replies

Another one of my faves is leaving this industry -- but, as several have said already, she's leaving on her own terms, and I applaud her for it.

Here's to a well-deserved retirement, Jane Elliot. GH, and daytime, won't be the same without you.

If Y&R were insistent upon not using Alex Donnelly or Susan Walters, she would make a fantastic Diane recast.

However if Y&R could get either AD or SW to return then I'd cast her as Martha Hellstrom.

Isnt she like 30 years too old to be Diane? Maybe Diane's mother... How does one go from an actres thats 53 to 83? Thats a significant gap and Diane isnt a senior citizen

Not really.

Y&R de-aged Diane when they recast the character with Susan Walters (54) & Maura West (45) but Original Diane Alex Donnelly will be 58 this year which isn't that far off from JE who just turned 70 (but who could pass for early 60's).

She said she hated that no writer tied in her The City storylines. FV must be thrilled he has more money to spend on OLTL/AMC characters.

I agree with Khan. I'm glad she is leaving on her own terms. Hope she gets a juicy last episode (oh, who am I kidding?)

Enjoy your retirement, Jane.

I don't blame her for getting out....she has to be incensed at the direction GH has gone in the past years. Get out while the gettins good!

Good for Jane getting to leave when she's ready and not getting forced out, but I will really miss her. Even as the nicer, more mellow Tracy of the last year or so, Jane's presence was always welcome. You knew that she could make even a poorly written scene worth watching. Fingers crossed that Tracy's exit doesn't involve plans to chase after Luke. If his health is good enough, I'd love a Stuart Damon guest appearance before Jane leaves, where Tracy has one final scene with Ghost Alan. Those 2 actors always worked so well together.

I'm wishing Jane the best. I hope that much like Susan Flannery that she goes back into directing as she's done it in the past.

At this stage in the game, they might as well kill Tracey off dare I say it. Most of the Qs are dead anyways might as well kill the remaining true Q off while you're at it.

I don't want them writing Tracey off and having her go chase behind Luke, which I bet is what they'll have her do. <_<

At this point it wouldn't really have any meaning because no one is there to react, other than pop-ins from Ned and I guess that Ken doll son of hers is still around.

I'd rather she just leave in style, realizing nothing is left for her and she can finally stand on her own now that her family is gone.

That's all I want for Tracy. I know she isn't the nicest person, but after all the [!@#$%^&*] that has rained down on her in her life--whether she caused it or not--I want her to leave with a little hope for her future.

I mostly just want one final scene with Monica, and then one where she looks at a photo of Lila and Edward (I'd prefer John Lewis but John Ingle is fine too) and says something like, "Goodbye Mommy. Goodbye Daddy." and then quietly leaves, with one last look back at the Q living room.

She needs to say goodbye to her brother, too! If Stuart Damon is too ill to return as Alan's spirit, she should at least look at his photo, too.

True. I guess for me her relationships with her parents were what defined Tracy.

I just suggested that killing her off might be best as Jane won't return most likely anyways. Might as well finish off the Qs.

But I'd be content with her leaving in style and jet-setting the world as long as they don't have her chasing off after Luke (as aforementioned) and later reuniting with him. Just no.

Exactly I read that post like "Since when would she be a good fit for Diane?'
