I'd love to know what Sheri was promised for her to come back after almost a quarter century. she was so PISSED at Corday back in '92 I thought she would never return. 

As for gay characters, I do think Ron tried with "Kush" (I wasn't thrilled with the writing, but he did try), and I think they actually were on their way to becoming an important part of the show that could have easily endured, even if there were supposedly backstage issues. I really had problems with the story for Kyle's boyfriend Nick who faked a hate crime to keep Kyle around, but apparently that was going to get more serious treatment before it was dumped in the purge. 

 

The writing for Felix and Brad at GH was cloying and embarrassing beyond belief, when it wasn't outright offensive. 

 

Other than Derrick, who could be having comedy scenes spraying whipped cream all over JJ's hairy chest in no time, DAYS doesn't have gay characters who fit that story bill, so hopefully he will have to be a bit more serious this time around.

He won't need Stefano. Andre is about to become that slapstick villain on the canvas now. Watch & see. He is about to have a field day with the Dimeras.

I actually expect him to pull the same cheesy stories that he did on GH on DAYS with Sonny, Paul, and Derrick. I don't see RC putting any effort in the LGBT characters at all unless one of them is penetrating a woman.

Considering that Thaao came back to GH as Victor Cassadine during his stint, I'm sure he will be written like that.

I can totally see that! Meh. But I guess that kind of thing might work better on DAYS than it did on GH.
