Can someone (if anyone on here has a subscription or the current issue of SOD) please give me the list of what was named the Best & Worst in soaps by SOD in 2016? I don't have a subscription to SOD, and I can't afford to buy an issue at the store! You could also message me too!

Next time I'm in the store and if I still see it I'll pick it up and check it. All I ever see anymore is just SID with misleading headlines.

SOD use to be the gold standard of soap mags IMHO compared to SOW, SOU, SID, Soap Opera News etc. but after I gave up my subscription in 2005 I never looked back. I think the last SOD issue I actually brought was the surprising Jacqueline Courtney tribute issue in 2010. It was very surreal to see Steve and Alice on the front cover of the magazine and too read Paul Rauch actually had very fond memories of Courtney.

LMAO!

I remember a decade plus ago, when I didn't have a car, I would still walk to the store that wasn't near or easy to get to at all, in all kinds of insane weather, to pick up a copy. It gave me such pleasure, even though daytime had regressed majorly by then. Now, I won't even pick up the copy to read in the store. LOL

IA with alot of the Days ones except for Daniel Dies, TP as scene stealer and Jen's addition story. That story was non-existent and so poorly done. It wasnt anything amazing but B&B did better with Katie

Zende and Nicole as most tortured couple? All their problems were their own doing and they didnt really go through much. They spent the entire summer on the backburner. Sasha was the main nemesis torturing them....okay. That category seemed to have been written for Steffy and Liam and all the BS the show did.

There was nothing shocking about Quinn kidnappin Liam. Thats pretty much typical Quinn. Hope murdering Stefano on Days should have been this winner

I guess it's hard to really pick the "best" when all the soaps were basically trash. I'm just rolling my eyes at most of their picks already ...

Jennifer's addiction was OFF SCREEN and amounted to one episode of flashbacks we never saw to begin with and an intervention. Awful. What we SAW was good but it was hardly a story that played out onscreen.

    • Ugh. I genuinely hope not; I pray, somehow, CHCH-DT is told to provide a one-day pause. The last thing we need is a Y&R situation with this soap. I'm pretty sure Samantha is the older twin.
    • As usual, Jane Elliot stole the show. GM was good as Gio as were Rena, Dominic, and Amanda.   I also thought the actress that plays Emma was low key, but perfect at the same time-just listening and reacting.
    • I'm surprised it took me this long to get into RH. The soap is so damn good, I am just as obsessed with the Ryan's as Delia. The Ryans are a great family unit and seem like good people. I wish I had a family like that. This show has so many parallels to BTG. Frank's mystery is very similar to Martin's. Both are my favorites on each show. adding more thoughts soon once I get a consistent watch going.
    • I also get why Gio feels his life was a lie. I get everyone's emotions are high now That's why I think Monica passing will be the catalyst that starts to the healing process for Gio, BLQ, Lois, Tracy, Ned, Olivia and Dante
    • Judging by the fact that I was able to watch two episodes today, looks like Canada being a day ahead might be permanent.
    • Agreed! I normally don't rate Amanda Setton that highly as an actress, but she knocked those scenes out of the park. Between this and the Michael storyline, I think we're in for a week of juicy drama. I heard everyone talking about how dull Rory Gibson was on Y&R, but I thought he was pretty good today playing a steelier version of Michael. And I loved Wiley's little "Bye mommy!" moment. The writers clearly know how much most of us hate Willow if they're tossing out little nuggets of schadenfreude like that one.
    • Slower day, but not bad. I thought Tomas was at his personal best today, flirting with Kat at Uptown.  Hayley is pregnant!  Oh boy... Samantha felt more like the babysitter today vs. the young sister. I'm ready to meet Sharon. I want a strong dynamic so it's not a repeat of what we just saw with Tracy's reunion.
    • They've been on same day for three episodes, which is a good thing because the days flowed weird to me before.
    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
