August 25, 20169 yr Member Well, count me in as someone who thinks Phyllis' writing is better suited for Summer. Not a grandmother in her second descent into cheating on the same guy. It's not like phyllis hasn't been in love several times left. She's left jack to pursue a life with Nick that didn't end so well for her and wasn't easy. I do feel it's kinda silky to tell this sane story again. None of this is new to her. But then I tend to think almost every story told on the show is one generation off. Nick should be getting Victor's stories and Noah should be getting nick's stories, so to speak. But the show just seems stuck.
August 25, 20169 yr Member This backflip to StePhyllis as a girl who can't be with the man she wants because of his big, bad mama is wearing on me. Would the 'real' Phyllis be all poor me, victim to Jill? Heck no! Phyllis would be scheming to find ways to take down Jill! GT deserves better than this. And when the writers have brought out Phyllis 'real' persona, she has more than delivered. Otherwise, I believe this week has been quite good - even with plot holes aka those letters from Neil's mother kept handy in the desk drawer - but even there MM more than delivered the emotional punch I her scenes.

August 26, 20169 yr Member Oh please, that's not what I said. You have a grown woman that's been married multiple times daydreaming about a fantasy wedding with her lover. It's stupid. A few weeks ago they had her sobbing on her bed like a teenage girl. The writing for this character is a joke. Oh please [2]. With the rampant homophobia and sexism on this board of course my comment about an adult acting like a child is ageist and sexist. Keep excusing this tripe all you want. If she's coming across as a 17yo lovesick girl, then it's a problem. But then I tend to think almost every story told on the show is one generation off. Nick should be getting Victor's stories and Noah should be getting nick's stories, so to speak. But the show just seems stuck. The show will never get unstuck until a competent writer can come on board and create a viable younger generation. The vets are "forced" to carry so many stories (despite what's appropriate or not) because there are not many others who can hold the audience's interest. Those rumblings were my stomach after watching UpChucks stories... LMAO. I love you. August 26, 20169 yr Member When I heard that MG was coming back, I only wanted to see one thing - Daniel & Mariah coming face-to-face. It's hard to believe that Cassie died over 11 years and I've been curious to see he MG/CG would interact. It's too bad that MG isn't going to be a regular because I'd love to see a Mariah/Daniel pairing.
August 26, 20169 yr Member ditto about Graz and Camryn Grimes that would have been interesting. Sully's paternity issues matter less if Adam is the Dad and not available. All it would do is pull apart Sharon and Dylan, right now unless they used it as a way to write someone else off the show.
August 27, 20169 yr Member I only started watching again about 3 years ago so I missed all of the first round of Billy, Adam, etc. But I feel completely differently now. The show looks better but there isn't a storyline I really care about. Nikki's constant propping up Victor to her children when she knows what a snake he is...Victor constantly playing God to "protect his family" when he's the one who creates the messes and then his excuse is 'he didn't know it would get this far'. Adam's angst - tired. Constant waffling that they'll find their way out of it because of his love for Chelsea and the kid, then the next day- stay away from me and move on. Chelsea's angst...tired. Chloe - miserable. I could care less if Summer marries Luca or not (what has been his point on the show beyond Marisa??). I like Gina Tognoni but they are writing Phyllis just so angry and mean - turn that around. There isn't a single story I care about, and everything is so heavy and miserable. Sharon's baby swap / dead Sage - starting not to care about that completely. Devon and Neil don't do anything but revolve in Hilary's orbit. There's a reason their ratings are dropping like a rock....they can improve the look but if they don't get some stories going they're going to be lucky to last 5 more years. Is someone forcing you to watch the show? Hey try watching something you like. lol The ratings for 18-49 year olds are dropping like a rock. Big difference. Edited August 27, 20169 yr by celine12

There is another route if they decide to go forward with the Chrully reveal, which I'm assuming they are because of SC's interview last month, Nick/Chelsea. If the reveals happens while JH is off canvas for his show, Sharon doesn't know Adam is father, but Chelsea does.... Honestly, I'd rather they leave this for a few more months.
August 27, 20169 yr Member I think Trevor St John is perfect Adam recast if JH doesnt return Now that CBS has successfully launched HK's career, she'll stay in primetime and Y&R will blowup the internet and rating in January when MM returns and it's revealed the JH's Adam was really Gabriel Bingham all along....
August 28, 20169 yr Member Neither MM or TSJ needs to appear, thanks. Both ooze smarm. JH can come back when he is on hiatus.
