June 12, 20169 yr Member This is sickening. And makes me worry for my friends at LA Pride, for San Fran Pride in two weeks, and not to mention SD Pride next month. SMH.
June 12, 20169 yr Member The shooter's father say that his son saw two guys kissing in Miami and that enraged him. I dont buy this for one second and I believe a closer look into the the dad might not be a bad idea. Looks like this was more of an opportunity than an attack on the LGBT community. Do not do this today. Seriously. It is both things: An antigay bigot and a religious fanatic. It was a hate crime with a dash of domestic terrorism. He went into a gay club and killed at least 50 people. The casualty toll is at a hundred. Edited June 12, 20169 yr by Vee
June 12, 20169 yr Member Dan Patrick deleted the tweet, but of course nothing is ever gone on with the handy tool of screencaps. This is from an elected official of the second largest state. I hope his ass got chewed apart on Twitter. Sick nut.
June 12, 20169 yr Member ^ That quote doesn't even make sense. I'm not a Christian, but it still drives me nuts when people misuse bible verses. The victims did not sow violence and hate, so why should they reap it? In fact it reminds me of something my pastor used to say when I was a kid, which is when you point a finger at someone you are pointing three back at yourself. Maybe Dan Patrick ought to worry about what he's been sowing.

It's always some right-wing nut that misuses Bible verses but is the primary culprit in committing sins.

June 12, 20169 yr Member Mr. Patrick is right. God is not mocked. Which is why all those who use Him to spread their bigotry better watch their backs. Because the same God who they think is coming after gays and lesbians for their "abominations" is coming after them and theirs as well. I don't know what to say about these sorts of incidents anymore. Of course, I pray for everyone affected by this tragedy, whether directly or indirectly. That goes without saying. I pray for everyone -- EVERYONE -- everywhere to remain safe and on alert. That goes without saying as well. I just wish we didn't need these constant reminders of how unsafe, unstable and, yes, ungodly our world has become. God asks us to do one thing -- to love one another -- and yet, as simple as that task might sound to you and I, it seems to be the hardest thing for us all to do. Edited June 12, 20169 yr by Khan
June 12, 20169 yr Member Yep God says not to judge or face being judged by him on Judgement day. They seem to forget that little part
June 12, 20169 yr Member Isn't he mocking God by quoting His word to justify a horrific act of terror??

June 12, 20169 yr Member Isn't he mocking God by quoting His word to justify a horrific act of terror?? He is mocking God AND he is bringing damnation upon himself.
June 12, 20169 yr Member The way that these people use the Bible to spew poison and wrap it in righteous glory is sickening. David Perdue said just awful, shocking things about Obama at the last Prayer Breakfast, obviously very proud of himself (and the so-called people of faith there yukked it up), and he also hid behind the Bible.

"May his days be few" Yes. That was absolutely a vile verse to quote. We are a divided nation and I don't see it getting better any time soon. Sad days.
June 13, 20169 yr Member What is so amusing? This is not proper behavior standing behind someone speaking about a mass shooting.
June 13, 20169 yr Member I guess they're just so in awe of him...ugh. His wife bothers me. Anyway, not to segueway, but more is coming out about the shooter's father. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/06/12/orlando-shooting-suspects-father-hosted-a-political-tv-show-and-even-tried-to-run-for-the-afghan-presidency/
