It's about time Genie was offered a contract that showed they want her for longer than just a sweeps period. Now, the next question - can these new writers come up with at least one decent storyline for Laura in the next 3 years (or until cancellation...or until they're replaced by the next writer(s))? Members titan1978 Posted November 1, 2015 Members Share Posted November 1, 2015 I wish we had better writers, because I would love to see Laura not paired with Luke or Scotty and still be a vital character. Labine could do it. Guza could too until we got to the Lucky is dead storyline. They both gave her family, friends, down to earth and soapy material. Genie was so impressed by these women and their approach to writing soaps. This is first time since 2002 since Genie has been under contract. But she's staying put because it was a contract offer and her kids are all gone. All she wanted since her coma return was to be offered a deal she felt she deserved.
