This news is the best in a while concerning GH. I think I will keep watching now. 

I can't imagine it's for the material. Can't say I blame them considering how the industry treats women.

I'm pleasantly surprised (more so at Genie staying). The material isn't there but I think they've been written better than they were under Ron.

Now if they were given some meaty material…won't happen with Passanante.

Yeah I am surpised Valentini even gave a damn to sign them to longer contracts.

Holy [!@#$%^&*]! I did not expect Uncle Frank to bother re-signing Genie. I guess I'm stuck watching Laura/Anna edits now.

 

The show is unwatchable at this point, so their only prayer is to lean hard on these female vets. Genie is the closest thing they have to any anchor. I stopped watching in September, and I'll watch almost anything.

Genie (and Jonathan Frakes) do not need the money, so I wonder if they made her another (likely hollow) promise for certain story.

LOL. True. But they could have let her go again this time. They didn't have to sign her to a new contract.

They must have some plans for Laura, she does not come cheap...... I'm optimistic. 

 

With both staying I see Robert and Lesley make a ( brief) return at some point.

Tracy, Anna and Laura should be on so much more than they are, and given much more to do. Now that Geary and Puke aren't on anymore, Tracy's an extra. She needs to be WAY more involved.

 

Nina and Franco do not deserve any iota of airtime (to be fair, they aren't getting a TON but because of their taping schedules, the characters are too isolated and I'm tired of characters airing in blocks and then disappearing for weeks). None. Why can't Frank cut them loose? I just don't get it. Is it an ABC thing?

 

I think Frank should have gone the same time Ron did.
