His years of petulant, personal meltdowns on Twitter proves it. He wrote what he wanted to see, and as long as he had the rather devoted stans tickling his balls, he was good to go. He started smelling himself around the time of OLTL's 40th, and it was all downhill from there. To quote my freshman girls, "you couldn't tell him NUTTIN, girl!" No writer who is being pressured by the network to write stuff they don't want to write acts that biggity.

Exactly. I'm sure there are many things the network or others infringed upon, which is the nature of the beast in this business. And I know he was blocked re: Luke and Laura. But I simply can't with people trying to tell me Nathan Varni or Frank are making Ron write for Donna Mills, Nina, Franco, Kiki and Denise. No sane network person is coming up with that.

If they start working on August 10th, when will we see their material? I wonder what all that means for the cast. I hope they keep the vets and use them. Maybe GF has a good chance with them.

If they're smart, they'll know they need to shore up this major sea change with strong vets. As in, both Genie and Finola Hughes, both of whom I am worried about.

I just hope this isn't the end for Jackie Zeman. If it is, I suppose I should just be grateful she was brought back at all. It was more than I expected a couple years back.

Jackie Zeman isn't breaking anyone's bank! She's the least of my worries. You can always have Bobbie pop in, it's basically what she's doing now.

Altman is unspectacular and Passanante should never be a HW again. But Ron screwed himself and the show.

I just hope they keep using some of the folks like Lucy, and drop the revamped OLTL trio. I'm cool with some new blood, just don't bury me in them. The cast and the show have lots of potential but these are not writers that excite me.

I would've loved to have had McPherson and Snyder from AMC 2.0. Any of those people, really.

Called it! But it really was just an educated guess. LOL But I'm disappointed by his replacements because once again we get recycled HWs who failed at other shows. I would've loved to see someone new, or promoting someone on the staff who's never been HW before.

I agree. Why is promoting not done more often? The two most recent times I can think of were Marlene and Darrell for DAYS in 2011 and Ron for OLTL in 2007.

Altman and Passanante are mandate writers, they're going to write and execute the show the corporate suits at ABC wants them to produce, nothing more or less.
