As The World Turns and The Edge of Night premiered on the same day. They share the joint title of first half hour soap. The first hour long soap was Another World. It was also the first and only 60 minute soap.

Y&R also showed Jami Lyn Bauer and Tom Selleck in a daring sex scene in the shower in 1974. It had been called the most erotic on daytime. I have never seen it but people have said they showed naked bodies pressing up against the shower doors.
