I think they mean someone who is Australian, as opposed to an American with an Aussie accent. It is an odd choice of words, though.

Anyway, LA should be chock full of ex-Neighbours and Home & Away actors for them to choose from.

ETA: I should have read the article first before posting! But still, think of all the out of work Aussie actors already in LA (on their doorstep), and Days are searching, literally, from Australia. Seems a bit odd.

Dan Ewing with his sexy ass! I think he moved to LA recently and he fits the bill of what DAYS normally casts.

I'll admit it's a little surreal, on top of the talented young Australian who came over here just to put on an American accent and play Kyle Abbott on Y&R. (He's too good for the show, based on past work.)
