B&B - March 2015 Discussion thread

When it was said a "love story" it could have meant Maya/Myron learning to love herself. Maya mentioned to Nicole how when she first met Rick and realized who he really was she backed away because she didn't feel good enough for him. She's since gone after that lifestyle to maybe make her feel better and feel like she was "worth" something since her parents treated her the way they did. Who knows?

I can't believe how one scene has generated such talk and speculation. So many people are b*tching about stuff when the story hasn't even been played out yet. Yes, I know. It is B&B and I understand it's history...but still....deep breaths people....deep breaths....

OMG someone just made me think of Milton Moorehead from Soapdish lol

I posted that scene a few pages back.

marceline beat me to it, but I was just going to say that this is a soap and you just know how soaps will jump at the chance to make black characters biracial with one white parent they can potentially pair with white characters already on the canvas. But I doubt her parents will stick around that long. They do need to appear at some point. KM would probably nab an Emmy with that sort of material.

Love Jacob! It'll be interesting to see how he has to play this story compared to how he had to on AMC (JR was completely prejudiced against transgender character Zarf).

Am I the only one hoping they bring on Maya's parents just so somebody can ask, "What kind of black people name their son Myron? Gender notwithstanding I'd have changed that [!@#$%^&*] too." tongue.png

Ha, right!? Reminds me of my mother when Theo said his full name on The Cosby Show: "Why they name that boy, 'Aloysius'?"

You two ain't kiddin'!

Unfortunately, every time I see the name "Myron," I can't help but think of a local sportscaster -- also African-American, also named "Myron."

I guess nobody noticed that Jill Whelan aka...Vicki from the 70's/80's show The Love Boat is playing Brooke's counselor.

Unless she's doing Brooke or a man in drag (who's doing Brooke), nothing much matters on THE BAFFLING & THE BATSHIT CRAZY.

This conversation feels like a real one that a real family would have and questions real people would ask in this situation. Great writing.
